Watercooled 7800gtx

Right lads...

My BFG GTX will be here in the morning and there are a few things I would like to know.

Ive heard the cards throttle under 35.c? Well, I plan to pop my Silverprop HL straight onto the card and run it with the rest of my 120.3 system. Will I have problems with throttling? My Atitool says that my X850XT @ 570/600 is only 34.c idle??

What are the best drivers for this puppy? Are there any new version / betas that I should be using.

Anyone know of any volt tweaked BIOS's for these cards?

Any thing else I should know before I slap this puppy in?

Dont forget thats 35 idle - under load even on water temps will be slightly higher than that - so you should be ok - keep an eye on it. One or two points of interest, some people have been running their cards so cool that they've been experiencing condensation on the pcb. The dew point is around 18 degrees. So it does make you wonder if the temp probes on these things are accurate.

Is your gpu block straight after your cpu block? If so I don't think you'll have a problem.

Easiest way is to edit the BIOS.

These units run cool so you either have to force a good overclock in 2d and 3d usign RIVATUNER RC 15.6 or Back up BIOS then use nibitor 2.2a go to temps and remove the 6600 Temp trick.

All will be well then.

Of course Nvidia may have removed the problem by then (yeah right) and you might not have any problems with temps.

THE COACH

Watercooled my generic cards following mav's threads on how to mod the innvovatek 6800block and this BIOS trick.

Without it you are in 'cold throttle city' man.

Happily overlcocking at 490/1400 (depending on the weather)

Good luck - post your reults here.
