Water proof motherboard any one?

This reminds me of my internship I did at a AAA gun manufacturer. All of the PCBs they made
were coated for water- and dust-proofing them. Pretty awesome.

I'd think something like this would be quite nice for sub-zero cooling. Much less worrying about
condensation.

For those wondering this is the new Asrock A-Style Series 8 motherboard. Here is a link showing the other specs: http://www.asrock.com/microsite/intel8/

For the lazy: Waterproof coating, 802.11ac card, HDMI Passthrough for consoles, Home Cloud and Purity Sound are the main new features they are touting. And of course Socket 1150.

Nice:-)
Really handy to have for watercooling, in case you have a small leak.
I'll keep an eye on AsRock motherboards now:)

Would be good to see this on all the components in the pc, like graphics cards, sound cards etc so you don't have to worry about anything, in the form of condensation.

This is great, but, kind of redundant unless EVERYTHING else in your case has the same coating...?

I assume the socket isn't coated otherwise how does it work lol? which leads me back to point 1...

Motherboards are placed vertically so they won't be that useful for regular watercooled rigs, but very useful for situations where there is a lot of condensation.

Sealing the CPU to the board with a bead of silicone would sort that out.

I agree though about the other things like GPUs etc.

Mind you, let's face it. Any one going sub zero with a Haswell won't be running a GPU they'll just use the onboard.
