Water cooling requirments

Hi Guys,

A very quick question, I am looking at a new build with dual loops.

I want one loop to cool 2 graphics cards, and a loop to cool cpu/memory.

What size resevoir and radiators would I need for each loop?

I was looking at 360mm rads, but I am unsure if this is overkill. Also I haven't a clue what size resevoirs would be needed.

Many thanks for any help :)

Reservoir size doesn't matter.

What case do you have?

This is where things get complicated, its not going in a case, its going in a desk build.

Well what are the rig specs? What's the case? Better with one loop if possible imo.

Rig specs are as per my sig, but with another gcard thrown in, but I like upgradability :)

Is it just a matter of the bigger, the better?

I can put dual 480mm rads in, as I have the space, just wondered if there was much performance gained?

Or if I could save money and put 240mm rads in :)

thanks for the reply :)

I would put the 480 rads in if you can so you can have the fans turned righttttttttt down.

He'll be able to have the fans turned right down even with just over half that rad space in tbh.

If you got a single 420mm rad, 60mm thick, you would be able to run the CPU and 2x GPUs from it, with low fan speeds and get decent temps. You may want to look at a 360mm with a 240mm, or a 420+ a 240 if you have the space for a little bit of overkill - or, you could go with 2x 360s to keep things balanced.

When you say desk build, do you mean your making a desk and having all this stored somewhere throughout the desk? Or just sitting somewhere?

I have built a pine desk. it has a lid and the components are going inside. I have some acrylic work to do first, but then the desk lid will have a window looking down on the mobo/resevoirs. Everything will be self contained within the desk, and I will use some subtle LED lighting.

Going to have to do some tests with the acrylic and wood first thou, as there are a few things I need to check regarding glueing acrylic to wooden panels :)

Did you have a thread on that build log? I think i saw it. If so very nice!

Put the absolute biggest rads in all available areas and find some decent fans that can be run on 5v or if you would like better performance go for some nice 7v fans. Both will run extremely well.
