Water Block Dilema

Guys i need your wisdom to decide something.

I only have one part of my water cooling setup left to purchase, however its very tight this month and i'm not sure if i can wait another month before completing the setup.

I can afford this block now (£35 inc shipping) - Its a UK brand u may not have heard of:

http://www.watercoolingshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=26_66&products_id=424

Or this block in a month (£54 inc shipping):

http://www.overclock.co.uk/customer/product.php?productid=18707

What do you think i should do?

the swiftech has an unreal design that is proven to work... why would you get something else? just eat ramen noodles for a week and you'll have the money ;)

Try telling my 2yr old daughter she has to eat Pot Noodle for a week to fund my computer - rofl!

If you don't get the storm... I promise you I will get a plane ticket to London and come give you the beating of a lifetime! ;)

So, Storm all the way! :D

You just gotta get the storm Jim, it's Aussie engineer designed...you can't possibly go wrong with that :yumyum: :worship: Oh we have heaps of two minute noodles here, if you decide to lash out

I burnt myself with those a few years ago and haven't touched them since :( Really bad burn :( LOL WITH NOODLES

Try taking a look at www.procooling.com, they have an excellent comparison and testing section where the storm is rated about the same performance as the alphacool nexos xp(about half the price). Also rated as top by www.watercoolplanet.de

Also you dont have to take out your mobo to fit an xp.

Have been doing lots of research myself on same subject.

Nexos xp is available in uk from thecoolingshop.com

Hope this may be of some help with your dilema.

Welcome to the forums Kat.

Thanks for the advice - now i'm bloody confused ;)

The block you suggested does indeed have very similar cooling properties to the Storm, and is also ranked #1 block on the watercooling site you linked me to.

Also, i've found it on eBay, fairly cheap, which is another bonus.

Only downside is that it is very restrictive (is this a downside?) and the mounting equipment is ugly as sin.

On the same website, i found that the Zern block i was thinking of purchasing is ranked #2 waterblock, and has less restrictive flow and better mounting hardware.

What do you guys think?
