Due to the lack of immediate availablilty of any NF590 based Core2 Duo motherboards I purchased an Intel 975X chipset motherboard to run my dual NVidia graphics cards in SLI.

I then find that your drivers do not allow SLI to run on this chipset.

I can't tell you how disappointed I am to find this to be the case, to make things worse, older drivers have been modified in the community to allow sli to run.

Now that I know SLI can run successfully and operate on this chipset but you choose not to activate it I am even more emotional about the whole situation.

So before I switch to ATI Radeon X1950XTX, please can you tell me when you will relase an SLI driver for the Intel 975x chipset.

Many thanks.

The more people that do this the higher chance we have on Nvidia cracking under the pressure - so for those that want, join in the request direct to the manufacturer.

United we stand my friends........ POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!!!

here

(But isnt the DFI NF590 coming out soon?)

It is Zax my friend, but for early adoptors should we really have to upgrade our motherbaords so soon just for official SLI? The current engineering samples of this board that are floating around are less than desireable addtions to an overclockers armoury - hope that improves though.

I got a reply:

NVIDIA's policy is to release new Forceware display drivers every couple of months. These updates provide performance boosts, stability enhancements and innovative new features to our Geforce and Quadro family of GPU's. We do not set a specific release date for our future drivers as we prefer to release them as soon as they are finished, tested and ready for release. To be alerted by email when the next display driver is released, please sign up for the NVIDIA Newletter from the following URL:

has anyone else got a reply, and if so, was it the same as this one? :D

I go tthis as a reply;

"Thank you for contacting NVIDIA Customer Care.

This driver is a Beta driver that enables Quad NVIDIA SLI technology, allowing you to put two GeForce 7950 GX2 graphics cards in a single system with an NVIDIA nForce SLI motherboard. This driver is strictly for end user Beta testing with two GeForce 7950 GX2 graphics cards only and is not intended for production.

No reply for me as yet - although I did add a little bit about being uk's fastest, a nvidia customer since geforce 256 and about to swap all my scores over to ati ;)

Maybe they are just treating me with the contempt I deserve :)

Had reply today from Nvidia which reads,

Thank you for contacting NVIDIA Customer Care.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. However, currently, the drivers for Intel 975x chipset are under testing and will be realized shortly in an undisclosed date. The delay is to make sure that we are realizing the best drivers for your motherboard.

Sound interesting - although we all know from teh hacked drivers that this is simply a software on/off switch, I imagine that serious negotiations are ongoing now with Intel - I say that with a degree of confidence as Nvidia would not make such bold statement as 'in on it's way'.

Great news as I love these card and did not really want to have to sell up just to get FM approved scores in the ORB.

I got this resonse -

Thank you for contacting NVIDIA Customer Care.

I can understand how disappointed and emotional you are when you can find an modified driver version elsewhere to allow SLI to run. Our technical team is working on this and this problem should be fixed in the future drivers.

Your feedback is important and shall be forwarded to the concern department.

Regards,

NVIDIA Customer Care.

Look like the no of hits is rising........ maybe in a months time we will get what we want - shame it wont be ready for the driver release on the 6th this month
