Volt Mod

Think it would be easy/simple for a 6800gt?

Im getting 400/1080 out of this card, any higher gives artifacts.

Piece of cake mate Have you looked at better cooling for your graphics card mate, if you're looking at volt modding you are gonna have some excess heat to get rid of (I can recommend the AC Accelero). Can you afford to replace the card too, should things go pear-shaped?

Hey sorry for the late post, been busy lately

I wana find the max i can for this card, i have a vf700-alcu on this video card

Currently im running at idle 48 and load 64, and oc'd its at 405/1070

Hitting 450/1150 would be a dream, this card is lacking in some games i play, and i wouldnt mind getting a 8600gts

I dont have a voltmeter, i dont have a soldering iron, was hoping to do a "pencil" mod as some may call it, as iv seen it done elsewhere, but dont remember exactly.

For temperatures, i wouldnt mind this card going up to around 75 degs, cuz i have more fans i can add in. THanks!!

If I remember right, Guru#d used to have the mod you're looking for in the forums. I'm not sure how hard it would be to find it now that the card is a bit on the older side, worth a look anyways.

most older 6800 cards you could just bios mod them to add more voltage. My old 6800 i had it set to 1.5 i thk in the gpu bios never did overclock much better for me tho it was a rma card and always picky.

Is this normal? I followed the steps, and i can see my video cards bios. Looks very scary, as one thing could mess everything up :)

What i want to do is raise my vcore from 1.3v to 1.4 volts, won't be that bad right? Since people increase their CPU volts without problem..

Also, would you recomend setting my clock speeds and flashing that to the BIOS?

Or just simple ati tool?

Would it work to boot off of a USB drive instead of floppy? (iPod shuffle being the USB drive)

and also, do i install nvflash? or how do i use it

if your bios supports that yes i use my usb jumpdrive to flash my video cards and motherboard bios. You will need couple apps to make the usb stick bootable tho.
