Here are some results thus far of very unscientifically based benchmarking.
Basically a plain old xp with all the patches applied, forceware and nvidia drivers versus the Vista Beta 2 build thats out (ultimate edition) go head to head with the same hardware
The Hardware
Amd 3000+ socket 939
Asus 6600GT card
Jetway GTDual motherboard
1gb DDR memory
Everything is standard settings, no overclocks (dont know how to :-( ) and plain and simple install.
So on we go with...
3d Mark 2003.
Installation was a mare on Vista due to the UAP. Basicallt this stopped installshield from working as it prevents its execution and causes it to crash. I got it installed by disabling UAP and ran the demo 3 times and took the average results
Windows XP w SP2 - 8152
Windows Vista Beta 2 w Glass - 7210
Windows Vista Beta 2 w/o Glass - 7337
Theres a little difference as you can see there with glass or Aero turned off.
3dMark2005
Windows XP w SP2 - 3433
Windows Vista Beta 2 w Glass - 3042
Windows Vista Beta 2 w/o Glass - 3010
What I have noticed is that drivers for vista are supplied with settings for 3d mark tweaked. Im working on here that the xp drivers do the same as such as that. Here the settings arent as spread as 3d mark 03
So there we have it. If you have a test you want me to run then let me know
