vista rc2 (5744)

It is still best to do a clean install as there will be loads of bugs left behind with RC1, the RC2 is a lot better but there does not seam to be any anti virus software that works for RC2, so even though this version of windows is ment to be the best for anti virus, spam and other attacks, there is no secondary protection software available for it.

Well guys have found that AVG do anti virus software that will work for Vista RC2, this version looks like a winner so far but more investigating to do, the best bit though is DX10 of which i have attached an upload from my PC for your viewing.

hehe to be honest i found vista annoying with the graphics fading in and out so went straight to control panel and set the os for best performance and found it much better

once i shut down all the crap:D

I have RC1. I couldnt be bothrered to go through setting everything up again. I wondered if you could download DX10 from a site, like you can DX9. It would be cool if XP could have it. Im sure some hacker wannabe has extracted the files needed - they're all on the iso for the install im guesssing. Myself, I just cant be aresed, and if I could, it would be too much work. ..

XP will have a few new things when SP3 is finnished, but i dont think it will have DX10 as microsoft will want to try and sell as many copies of vista as they can.

I didn't realise they were going to update XP... I thought that they would have liked to make XP look old and dated so that everyone moves to Vista with haste, and quick profit $$$ for them

Win XP SP3 wont be done untill vista is out so there will be a gap for some time before SP3 comes out, updates will be things like IE7 and windows media player 11 like what is in vista plus a few sercurity updates.

Vista is such a leap from XP! I'm very impressed :D

I still have a lot to do and get use to, but I suppose it's good to learn now rather than get left behind later. Thanks again :)
