i rebooted my copmputer, and an error came up saying "Windows Vista has encountered an error and cannot boot. Please insert system disk and click repair"

thats great to hear on a simple reboot

after doing that and praying, she booted

but 20 times as slow as usual, around 3 minutes to fully load

everything is sluggish, glitchy

games don't install, dont work properly,

i get
cussing.gif
cussing.gif
cussing.gif
cussing.gif
FPS in CSS where i used to get like 100+ constant drops down to 30's in heavy fire areas, in xp never went below 80

i dont no what to do, looks like a waste of $120. i really want to re-install XP again on my new 500GB Sata 2, which i can tell is alot quicker even on Vista compared to this Sata 1 on XP.

Grrrrr, Crysis is coming out too, i want it so bad! And my new card is coming in soon also, SLI will work better on XP. ugh I HATE REFORMATTING!

You got a new HDD, installed Vista and it worked then broke, or did it just break?

Have you been tweaking the reg?

I`d go for another fresh install tbh. I know it`s a pita, but if it`s acting up so soon after u installing it, somethings gonna happen - and it`s best u got a change to backup anything u need to whilst u got the sluggish access. But hey, if u do something along the lines of nLite`ing it, it`ll be a lesser process and u could even autom8 it.

Oh wow look at it now. it boots up like usual , instead of being so slow like it was before

i dont no what to do.

i dont like dual boot, cuz i feel like im missing something on each drive when im on it.

i dont no which OS to stick with

Dual booting to Vista as u`r 2nd should be a good alternative, think there`s a guide or 2 on the forum about it (probably xp and linux, but the theory is the sameish).

That way too, u`ll keep the Vista install pure just for the game.. minimal drive footprint too. If it is just for the game, stripping it down as far as u dare could give a nice gaming experience.

Some1 here must be dualling Vista, I`m sure they can advise.
