Vista + 4gb EXE's = Fail

Hey guys, I've been trying to zip some stuff of mine up into a self extracting EXE on Vista but every time the compression completes it leaves me with the exe on the desktop that cannot be moved, cannot be renamed, cannot be deleted and cannot be opened.

I've tried

A) Rebooting

B) Running scandisk

C) Terminating explorer and deleting from command prompt

D) Taking ownership of the files and deleting

But every time it says that the file is in use and cannot be deleted.

I've even tried downloading process explorer to see what might be holding it open, and there's nothing showing

Any ideas?

i had this, i copied the file and pasted to another folder then i deleted the original and then the copy.

SYSTEM will have a hold of it. There's a util called Unlocker, and 1 or 2 similar, that will allow the deletion of anything.

If the archive is 4g (or 4g and a bit) will ur exe like it if the compactor is 32bit ? (even tho ur OS may be 64bit)

Other than that, be sure no active virus scanner is trying to scan it. Again if the scanner is 32bit it might have issues.
