VESA Publishes DisplayPort 1.4 Standard

VESA has published the new DisplayPort 1.4 Standard, adding Display Stream Compression technology that allows DP 1.4 to drive up to 8K displays or 4K120Hz displays with HDR deep colour.

4K above 60Hz. It's about damn time. Now I can finally see 3440x1440 at above 60?

That's been possible with DP 1.3.. which came out in Q3 of 2014.

Dream monitor - 4K, 120Hz+, IPS, 32", HDR, G-Sync !

That is unless Nvidia move on from 1.2..
Personally mine is 4k, 120hz, 30-32", OLED and HDR(although HDR isn't need as much with OLED having perfect blacks), and a bonus with Freesync range of 30-120.
But since none of that will happen for at least a couple years, then i'd like an IPS/HDR panel instead which would end up being vastly cheaper than the G-Sync counterpart:p
