using neoprene on evap head instead of seal string

is it possible to cut a bit of neoprene to use to seal were the evap head attaches to the mounting bracket? getting to be a real pain removing the evap head every time i want to put a diffrent cpu in and wasting loads of seal string which isnt cheap.. will leave the rest of the mounting kit sealed with seal string but just put np on the evap. what size thickness sheets would i need if its possible??

thanks

Excellent question dude - on which I was thinking of asking meself.

I would imagine that 1/4" neoprene would be thick enough, but has anyone used it this way - and what were the experiences (good, bad or ugly please)?

it would work as neoprene is closed cell, therefore no air gap as long as its clamped well down..

however, you would have to change it each time like any other gasket..

Why would you have to replace the neoprene? Ive found that if you leave it for a bit it fills out again so it is good for at least a couple of installs.

because like any gasket it should not be re-used..

it may work again, it may not.

depends if you want to take the risk or not.
