Hey there. As some of you know i am using the Stock AMD 64 Fan ATM.

Yeah was pretty fine but after now about 3 month's my Temps are going up to idle : 41 °C and @ work almost 50.

I dont like that.

I mean a winchester can be sooooo much cooler.

Thinking about the Thermalright XP-120 or the smaller version in CU format....

Compined with a nice panaflo 120mm.

Any other Suggestions ?

Ahhh and BTW : my NF4 chipset is running on 41 °C  I would say its a little high isnt it ?

you have a couple alternatives.

you can buy a XP120 and lose a couple RAM slots.

or a XP90c which is much smaller and has better ratings.

but you sy your northbridge is heating up?

well then if you want whole board cooling along with CPU, get a zalman 7700CU. they rock.

or you can get a XP-90c and a nice triple blade fan from www.sidewindercomputers.com

and then a small NB cooler (one of these) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ice=&MaxPrice=&SubCategory=62&Submit=Property

over all the HS's here, I would get a XP-90c or actually EVEN a XP-90, they cool well too.

Agreed with PV on the heavyness....especially if you move you case around a lot. The XP-90 is fine tho.

With myXP-120 I do NOT lose any RAM slots. On the contrary=the panaflo fan on the XP-120 cools the RAM's down as they are right below it :)

i would recommend the xp-120..because as you know winnies run cool...and so the big surface area of the 120 should be able to dissapitate heat easily without the need for a loud fan (not even a fan at all at idle). this is what swayed me..

then i will probably take the XP 90C

okay, but id get the Xp90 or XP-120, save some money, and the XP-120 is probably the quietest.

XP-90c is good if you mount your computer on its side, otherwise it could bend your mobo

that's bullshit

mine isn't using the special metal backplate.... i've even dropped it on my mobo with no apparent damage from that. all my problems lie within my ram :(

Go with an XP-120/90/90c, none of them will do u wrong and they all perform very similarly, it all boils down to space and looks in the longrun :)

Yep well madshrimps did the test, and the XP-90C appears to be the most efficient (fan dependant). It still is a heavy mofo at almost 3/4's of a kilo.
