I think if we had some kind of, What made you join up? we could paint a picture as to what is the best method for getting new members

Such as

Google

Friend

Competition

I like the articles on the main page

etc.

We could then use this to drive for more members

Interesting concept, maybe a poll or something for exsisting members aswell?

Then like every month or so Jim releases the figures to show were most people come from?

Nice idea,

would give the opportunity to see how many sign up purely for the competitions.... not that thats a bad thing ofc...

I signed up via a recommendation from an existing user as I was having troubles with a certain sempron 2600 (still in my attic :p)

Didn't know this was from the UK until I signed up. :D

Anyways I signed up because I was a reader for about 6 months.

i signed up due to it being a uk forum and theres some really good advice on here. i was looking at differnt sites to build a rig and this site came up through google so i joined up simples lol

It seems we've signed up for many different reasons!

I joined through meeting ye old'e Sysxtreme CSSers and then joined up on the forums :)

To tell you the truth I have no idea why I signed up... it was yeaaars ago. I remember being like a "lurker" mind you. ;)

I joined here because Fragtek told me to. :D think it was back in the SX days wayyyy back then?

The drive to attract new members is to increase potential for advertising revenues right?

I don't think it's so much for the money, I'm sure the admins and staff will agree with me when I say that this site costs a bomb to run! :worship:

The membership drive is more to build up the community and expand the site.

More members = more sponsors = more competitions + giveaways = more entertainment and free stuff for us!

Then of course there's world domination, but you've gotta start somewhere right ;)

edit: just seen you spamming up the forums dave, its a shame I took you seriously :nono:

I signed up because the Vbulletin installer said I had to in order to complete the setup :p

But yeah I agree its a good idea guys and should be easy to implement. We'll also be running a reader survey soon with some prizes, so look out for that :p
