First up, hey guys... not formally introduced myself on here but I have been pottering around for a while and thought I would post my current rig and my planned upgrades for it.
So, I recently purchased a CPU cooler and a new PSU... Before all that though, this was my rig as it was when I first built it:-
^Front view
^On the side... note the crappy generic PSU and stock cooler.
Right, so that was my machine. After that, I bought a new CPU cooler - the Zalman CNPS 9500 AM2.
I also purchased a new widescreen LCD - the Acer AL2016W, and a Zboard gaming keyboard.
^Note now the crappy generic RAM. Only 1GB... more on this soon.
Right, so that is my new cooler, and it works a charm - I aren't overclocking yet though as I am waiting on new RAM... that generic 1GB has gone on me so I can't use my PC currently.
After the cooler, I bit the bullet and spent a lot of cash on my new PSU - any guesses?
^out of the pack...
^Old against new.... hell of a difference.
And that, my friends, is the current condition of my PC. I have recently ordered some more parts to continue the upgrade. I am an ATi fanboy, so naturally I am thinking of a crossfire themed system... yes I know I have an NVidia cooler but the black works well with my mobo and it cools well.
So, to replace the stock fans on my Antec 900 I have ordered 4 Red LED SilenX iXtrema fans.
To complement the red fans and make my system positively glow red, I have also on order two AC Ryan Red cold cathodes to install in my case.
To control the fans, I have bought a Zalman ZM-MFC1 Plus fan controller - this is the black version to match my case, and I love it because it is very simple and elegant looking and can control six fans.
Two AC Ryan dust filters will be installed on my front fans to prevent dust getting into my system, and the final order is perhaps the most important.
I have also ordered 2GB of OCZ DDR2 PC6400 Crossfire RAM - the ones with the red heatspreaders that are certified by ATi. This should greatly improve performance of my system and will look great with my red PSU, graphics card and fans.
Anyways, hope you like my system as it is now and I will update with more pics as soon as parts arrive - should be tomorrow hopefully.
