This is my current system below, i want to know what you think my next upgrade should be. I am not worried about the motherboard as i will upgrade that soon, i am mainly thinking about an upgrade to the graphics card or the CPU. What will give me the best increase in performance a CPU upgrade or GPU upgrade?

AMD Bulldozer FX-6100 @ 3.9GHz
H60 2013 - ASUS M5A78L-M LX
2Gig Crucial Ram X2
Nvidia GTX560Ti DirectCUII
OCZ ZS Series 750W
Segate 500GB 7500 rpm
Segate 500GB 5000 rpm
Ocz Agility 3 120G
Windows 8 Pro 64 Bit
Zalman Z11 Plus
AOC 21.5" 1080p @ 1920x1080

Also not sure if this is the best place for this post, please tell me if i need to move it to another thread.

Thanks

What do you use the PC for?

Oops - gaming rig ;)

GPU then. But I'd be thinking of Switching to Intel instead of just upgrading your processor.

I use the PC for gaming, games like battlefield, crysis 3 ect and now arma 3. so i want to be able to get the smoothest performance possible on descent settings. What GPU would you recommend as an upgrade, or should i try to OC my graphic card as it has the potential?

Not really sure at the moment, it would be something that i get later in the year and i guess the maximum would be around £300 however i want something that will match the CPU and not create another bottleneck.

You can get away with a single 7970 or 680 - without a bottleneck fine.

I'd suggest a 7950, 7870 LE, or maybe a 670 if you want a Nvidia alternative.

Think about switching to Intel for Haswell on your next upgrade.

Overclocking your GPU won't really make it do much more than it can now. Maybe 4-5 FPS here and there but definitely not huge improvements.

I would get a 7950 and overclock it. Yes your CPU may bottleneck but only at the high end of the scale it's your minimums that will soar.

There's little point in buying a 7970 tbh so spend your cash wisely and make sure you get all the lovely games being given away atm :)

Thanks for all your help, i am thinking about maybe getting a new cpu and graphics later this year, rather than having to upgrade gpu then cpu then gpu ect. Most likely sticking with AMD and Nvidea, like a future titan or something like that.
