Upgraded

I just upgraded to Ryzen 5 :D
Must say I am impressed by the huge difference in how the PC feels and flabbergasted that I am able to boot to windows and function without issue, I was expecting to have to re-install both windows 10 and Linux although I probably will do a fresh install during the week anyhoo.

Upgrading to anything form AMD's past architectures can produce that feeling. Even going to Sandybridge is considered as upgrade.

I would seriously recommend fresh install of OS after doing an upgrade that big. It may feel fine, but gremlins will come. :D

Yeah I will do fresh install in a day or so

Just remember not to spill water on them or feed them after midnight. You'll be fine!

Jokes aside, always reinstall imo.

Cool stuff. Keep us posted on how things are going. Do you have any before/after benchmarks to show us? it would b cool to quantify the speed increase you are experiencing.

I would love to see pictures aswell, if you have time.

I forgot to save my bench scores when I re-installed yesterday.
So far it feels so much more responsive, applications are opening up instantly even my drives are way faster. Previously when clicking my storage drive I would have to wait whilst Windows would load it all up, now its instant and I mean instant.
Played Assassins creed black flag and whilst there is no significant fps uplift it certainly feels a lot smoother using higher settings.
As for photos I might but in all honesty my PC looks the same other than some additional RGB

Fair enough. Don't sell yourself too short, I'm sure your system looks great.

been playing a little this evening and eventually managed to get 3.95 Ghz at 1.375v cinebench score of 1325.
I reached 3.9 fairly easy but had to bump voltages and LLCs to get that extra 0.05, would like to get to 4.0 but I am reluctant to increase voltages any more as this will be a full time clock settings.
Now I just need to figure out how to get the ram past 2933mhz, its rated for 3000 but would like to get it upto 3200.

Not bad at all! Those Ryzen chips sure do pack a punch. Better performance than my SB-E xeon, while probably using a fraction of the power
