Hi,
I currently have a fairly nice set-up for gaming however with the release of the R9 series i would really like to upgrade to a single powerful card from my 2 XFX HD 7770 core edition's.
They have performed well at 1080p but i have has a few issues with crossfire compatibility, most notably the Farcry3 multiplay issue which will never be fixed.
I have checked previous sales of HD 7770 cards on eBay and i believe i can get about £50 for each card if not £60+ i can spend another £130. So that is a budget of about £230-£250 for a single graphics card.
I am looking at the Sapphire R9 280X Toxic, MSI R9 280X twin frozr. but as i have never bought a GPU in this price range before i am unsure of the benefits of maybe going with a last gen AMD card like a HD 7970 or swapping to nVidia to get a GTX 660 Ti.
What will i gain from getting a R9 280X over a HD7970?
My specs are below.
Also i only have a PCI-E 2.0 16x slot, i know that PCI-E 3.0 cards are compatible but will i lose performance/FPS?
I hope you can help me out,
Thanks in advance,
Alex
