Upgrade Due (mItx Help)

Hi all,
Been a long time member but i read more than i would post so sorry for not contributing and then asking for help :/
I am trying to build a mitx rig using my old msi 580gtx due to recent space restrictions (gonna have to be on a small desk) im going to need a small case ( baby girl on the way :) )
I have concerns on what i need in the case as i have not done anything to my old CM HAF in years.
Im in the UK.

Current System
Motherboard : Gigabyte EX58-UD5 ATX
CPU : Core i7 920 @ 2.66GHz 4Cores/8Threads
RAM : 6GB Kingston 1600MHz
GPU : Nvidia GTX580 Twin Frozr 2
OS Drive : OcZ Vertex 4 256GB
Monitor : Samsung SA700 1080p 120Hz

As you can probably see it is a very old system which has not had an upgrade except for the GPU a couple of years back.

Future Build ?
Case : Corsair Obsidian 250D
Motherboard : MSI Z87I Gaming AC Intel Z87 Socket 1150
CPU : Intel Core i7-4770 3.40GHz Socket LGA1150
CPU Cooler : Corsair Hydro H100i
Ram : AMD Gamer 8GB PC3-17000C10 2133MHz
GPU : Nvidia GTX580 Twin Frozr 2
OS Drive : OcZ Vertex 4 256GB
PSU : Corsair RM Series RM 650 '80+ Gold' 650W
or
SuperFlower Golden Silent 500W Fanless "80 Plus Platinum"
Monitor : Samsung SA700 1080p 120Hz

Mostly after a very quiet system to play game or watch films on.
Concerns are that i have no need for overclocking but that said i worry about heat as it is a small case and longevity as replacing and upgrading is going to be a struggle money wise for a while.
I enjoy some gaming usually Battlefield 4 and Some MMO's like Tera so after i have built it the new upgrade would be a gpu lol.
Was also thinking of adding 2 NF-A4x10 in the back of the back of the case for increased airflow due to the rear having no rear exhaust.

Any help, advice or suggestions would be much appreciated as i have not done a build in a long time.

Thanks for your time.

What you'll want to do is get the RM psu. Normally I'd choose the superflower psu over the RM series however as it is an ITX build it'd probably be safer to get a psu with a fan. The superflower psus are designed for cases with quite a bit of airflow.

Also, if the most cpu intensive thing you do is game then get an i5. Also if you're not overclocking just get a h80i.

When you get a new gpu I'd recommend getting one which has a cooler that exhausts most of its heat out of the case. :)

Thankyou for the quick reply barnsley.

Could i ask what i5 you would recommend ?
Also with the H80i being the only cooler needed would the case choice be up for debate ?
I loved the look of the Bitfenix Prodigy for instance ? (Rear exhaust for the H80i)
I did think the RM series would of been better due to case size so thanks for confirming.

*edit*
I do encode dvd's sometimes and for got to mention that fact, which is why i went for an i7.
i5 have no HT if i am correct so would that not hinder encode times/performance ?

Go with whatever case you like the look of and build your rig around that :). IMO thats the best way to do itx builds. I think the h80i would still fit in the 250D.

How often do you encode dvds? Also I guess it would depend on whether the program you used supported hyper threading. IF it didn't support it you'd get no boost with the i7.

If you don't want to OC get a non k i5 4670.

Encoding is not a primary focus and it is only mostly 720p or lower bitrate 4GB file sizes for DVD so i am guessing even with a HT enabled program i would not gain alot in using an i7 unless it was maybe job specific which it is not more for family videos ect.
250D was not my first choice from aesthetic point of view so i guess i will have another look at the prodigy or something with a little more design.

Thanks again for your advice i will indeed go for the i5 and H80i
Big money saver also :D

**EDIT**
In regards to the H80i and the i5 would i be able to buy the Corsair SP120 PWM Low Noise fans to replace the stock ones ?
I do not know if i would be able to get away with it even without an overclock ?

Specialtech do one with the silent fans for £90

Sorry if im not allowed to bump my own thread but i wanted to ask if i would be able to fit an air cooler instead of the H80i.

As i am not looking for an overclock the Noctua NH-D15 Quiet edition looks like it would be better noise and cooling wise.
Obviously being a mini-itx build clearance is an issue and my own inexperience with small builds does not give me confidence in making it fit lol
I had looked at the board and ram and it does look like there would be no clearance issues there i do not like the look of where the heatsink on the motherboard is closest to the i/o

Thanks for any help/advice.

*edit*
Looks like it would probably fit in single fan mode

A NH-D15 would proabably not fit bud, you might want to look at something like a Scythe Big Shuriken if you want quiet air cooler.

ahh right i did think it would not after looking at the review by TTL i could see even on an mATX rog board one pci-e slot was eaten by the size of the heatsink.
I will take a look at the scythe.

Thanks.
