So I'm getting some new parts so that i can use existing parts for a download box
CPU= 6700k=$535
M/B= Z170 Gaming M7=$395
Ram= Kingston 32 gig 2666=$369
Kingston HyperX Predator PCIe 480GB Gen2 x4 (M.2)=$549

So these are the new bits if you were to change anything what would it be and why? Do I need 32 gig ram no but it's the best value ram from my supplier.
What will I be doing with the system 90% gaming 10% Photoshop, Lightroom, Movie watching and web browsing
Cheers

An X99 set-up is cheaper than that combination of Skylake CPU and board...

Although for what you do with your system I don't think you need either, and not 32GB RAM.

I can't get a decent M/B in x99 from the supplier only the godlike at $769 which is a stupid price for a stupid named M/B and it's $600 for a 5820 so too expensive here to go x99

I can get a Rampage for $829 which is also extortionist for a M/B and the other thing I don't like about x99 is the gpu spacing on the board they are either too close or too far apart
Also the other reason I chose to go the way I did is there's no point buying a skylake cpu for my downloader which if I buy a full system will nearly cost me as much as the upgrade and figured why not have the better parts for my main gaming rig....well that's my thought train ATM

Trust me, the extra $65 AUSD is more than worth it for the 5820k.

Not sure why you are so limited on board choices though.

You don't need a stupid board like that though dude. There are loads of mid range boards here that are excellent and cost between £170 and £210. For example the Gigabyte SOC champion here is £210.

This costs $5 more than the one you listed for Skylake..

This is even less and is gorgeous*

*I run a Alienware version of that board and it's worked perfectly for me !

I won't buy gigabyte ever again but maybe I should look at maybe an Asrock

Asrock make some very decent X99 boards. Their Killer X99M Fatal1ty was excellent.

Would get my dollars. I've still not grown tired of red and black :)

Gorgeous board tbh.

Seriously though dude, X99 is where it's at. It gives you so many upgrade options compared to Skylake which will end up being a dead socket.

No water cooling I'm not confident enough in my abilities to go that route and I'm not scared to admit it
Oh and I've just remembered I don't know what I've done with my 2011 parts for my H105 S**T!

I may only to do with the EK one if you have time look for JayzTwoCents review of the EK AIO water cooler he uses the same motherboard with the one you're looking at.
