Hey i want some advice on my bsod issue.
so my issue is that when i start my pc i come to the welcome screen and then i get the bsod and the error msg atikmpag.sys and i have looked that up and know it have something to do with my AMD drivers.
i have uninstalled drivers and installed new and older versions without any results.
my friend said i should try do a bios update and i want some more opinions from people if that could help my problems.
both me and my friend isent that good at computers so i'm not sure if an bios update can ruin more things then it fixes?

i appreciate all the help i can get and sorry for my bad English.

Well need info first.

aka, cpu, motherboard, bios version,GPU, power supply, ram and if there were any weird issues before the bsoding happened.

I reckon it's more likely that your graphics card is at fault. But we indeed need more info.

okey it's a pre built pc so i havent built it my self. i got some small blue screens before but the pc started as usual after the reboot

intel core i3-2120 3,3Ghz, AMD Radeon HD 6670 2GB, predator G3610 mob i guess, Bios 10/31/11 10:13:44 Ver: 04.06.04, liteon psu 450w
and 8gb ram. hope it's the right info

Didn't you make a post yesterday saying your graphics card was dying and you wanted to know what to get?

Also, check on acer's website for bios updates. If there is an update for your combo of parts then it should mention if it fixes any issues like you are having.

Sadly though, it is a factory prebuild and these semi-gaming builds don't last long at all (atleast from what I've seen/heard) and judging by the bios it is coming on for two years old so it might be slowly dying.

My bad :s.

Basically you can get away with replacing the motherboard and psu if you're on a budget. you'll probably need a new copy of windows though as the acer one will be OEM.

Sorry I couldn't help more :).

Just don't go prebuild this time, yeah? ;D

If you don't know what you need to get parts wise, why not fill out the form thing and post a new thread in the 'build advice' section?

when I was running my HD 4870 I was getting this same bsod, the is also a similar bsod with the similar sys error, and both when googling produce the same results.....

I tired pretty much every fix that was mentioned but nothing seemed to work.
Some times it can be fine and others it would take upto 2 mins to start the boot process ending in bsod and other time it just wouldn't boot (nothing on screen)

I found by moving the ram sticks from a1 and a2 to b1 and b2 worked for a while and also removing the gpu and cleaning the contacts.......

alas though, no permanent fix...... about 4-6weeks after this became quite often my card finally died, but weather it was un-related or not I don't know....
