Unofficial OC3D Drivers Team chat

MrKambo suggested it and I thought it was a great idea so without further ado...

Here's a thread for us to discuss various driving sim aspects, be it gaming or setups and also a place to organise tournaments/time trails.

I can't wait for Pcars ( I missed out on buying it :c ) and at the moment I play a little bit of sim raceway when I feel like it. Simraceway might be a good start for our first races against eachother as it's free. Beware though, it isn't the prettiest looking racer out there.

While I remember, can anyone also recommend a good and cheapish setup? I sadly don't have the space in my room for a full setup but I'd like a wheel, shifter and pedals. My current setup works but I've had it since I got midtown madness one back when I was a chiddler and the drivers are a bit...fussy.

couldn't really get into any racesim because they are usually rip offs and i don't have a wheel yet. i do plan on checking out c.a.r.s. though, will get a proper wheel and i plan on getting an oculus rift anyways for SC when they release a 1080p version.

I always reccomend the T500RS to everyone, i know the G27 is legendary but the T500 is newer in tech and seems to get very high reviews

Ive got one, and i love it, i also bought the shifter, its a 7 speed with reverse shifter, but because of the way its designed only game that ive played that supports it is NFS Shift, unless you put it in sequential mode then its win!! But the paddle shifts work with any game

This is Assetto Corsa on my rig, ignore the driving

I like the look of the T500RS as it has full rotation and stuff. Perfect for drifting if there is ever a mod for it. I'll keep an eye on the price incase if it goes super low on black friday.

Now that is something I'd use for Oculus rift!

Lovely corners.

I am using a logitech driving force gt at the moment. if I got back into racing sims I would consider getting something better. I can not wait for the rift in 1080 I played it at pax aus and it was amazing I would love to use it for a racing sim.

Consider me now in the market for a Wheel/pedals combo...
I've been looking at the Logitech Driving Force GT, but hoping for cheaper price than what I'm seeing.....I'm going to struggle to justify £100 for a steering wheel set.

Will be buying Assetto Corsa this week sometime... and idea how big the Download is?

i got a question about assetto corsa for the folks who already got it, is there any word on the nordschleife coming up soonish?

anyone who is thinking about it, I got mine from gamekeys4all

I'll create a 'top five times' bit in the OP. If you post a time that is within that bracket post a screenshot/video of that time and I'll position you in it. I might do a prize of a game or something for the best time around Christmas.

1:25.264 @ Magione

Not happy with that time (so no screenie yet) but still very much getting used to the loads of understeer :(

Forced to play with Keyboard, as I can't get my PS2 pad to register the assign key :( however it is detected by the game.

First entry so you are straight in at number one on that track ;D. Also, what car?

Is it worth limiting the hot lap times to a certain car?

I think I might have to download this and get the G27 out!

Perhaps we could decide on a car for each track to avoid loads of incomparable lap times? Can't wait to polish up the skills and get competitive with you guys :)
