If it's not an abundant amount globally it'll still sell out everywhere within a day and be up on eBay or whatever for ridiculous amounts.

I'd love to see it sell out tbh. I think AMD needs that reassurance that it was good to reduce prices.

It’s going to sell out faster than any reviewer realises you can’t compare it too a £729 5070ti that’s isn’t even available as a founders price let alone see them selling for £1099 on amazon if any 9070xt is sold at 600 they are going to vanish you can talk about saving 50 quid on going 9070 but reality is a 9070xt is a 500 quid saving vs a 5070ti currently.

So nvidia might want to solve them supply issues very quickly cause idc who you are if you want to spend and extra 500 for 20% and AI well be my guest leave enough stock behind for me in april ok 😂😂😂

I just hope it legitimately gives Nvidia a run for its money. The increase of price beyond inflation and the reduction of performance in each series is just taking the absolute p**s now.

I think they may have realised that selling more at less profit still equals profit.

it's the same as Skins in games. The majority hate them but the minority that spend, create value that far exceeds the concern of even a few losses in sales

I love my PUBG skins. I treat myself to 20 quid a month. Mostly to support the game etc. But yeah, great fun. I have four progressive weapons now !

But yeah, "turn and burn" as I call it (or many items less profit = profit) is a strat tons of companies used to use. The most valuable part of that strat is of course market share and mind share. Having owned three (and still have all of them) AMD GPUs and having played on them etc I would never go back. Mostly as the fact is in Unreal Engine and PUBG they are simply better than Nvidia. They also do not have the crash issues with it that Nvidia has either.

It's also the fact that the GPU market isn't just about hardware anymore. Software matters too, and you only get developers interested in software if there is market share. AMD needs market share growth to push its software ecosystem.

With their dominant market share, Nvidia can get developers to invest in things like full ray tracing with all of Nvidia's gubbins. Good luck getting the same support for AMD ATM. Cyberpunk 2077 jumps on all of Nvidia newest stuff, but were late for FSR 3, and never added FSR 3.1 (which would have enabled FSR 4).

For the future of AMD graphics, they need strong unit sales as much as they need profit from those sales.
