Well thats great, not even in a sarcastic way. I hope piracy is completely wiped out someday, but I guess that won't happen. I'm glad this has been done though.

I don't like piracy either but this makes me think. Let's say tomorrow piracy is completely wiped, what stops all these companies that complain now about piracy to charge us, customers, ludicrous prices? I mean we won't really have an alternative we either pay what they ask or we start windows-shopping.
Now obviously there would be laws in place to stop them from putting a price x100 times but how about 5x or 10x?

I think one of the main reasons piracy exists is because they already make it too expensive. I don't encourage it in anyway but really? 30 quid for a BluRay movie with no replay value, and so many anti-theft locks that you cannot even upload it to your own HTPC or NAS?

$10 for a physical music album in the US, but once they arrive in Europe they're somehow €15-20? Do you know how many CDs you can fit into a container? That won't cost you €7 per CD unless you want to ship them individually in bubble wrap envelopes.

And then there are streaming services like Spotify and Netflix - Great for the consumer. But Netflix has its own exclusives, HBO has it's own exclusives, etc. We'd need subscriptions to ALL of them if we want to watch every show we like. And then there are a tonne of publishers of movies and series that don't want it on Netflix cause they think they won't earn enough and insist on still charging people that £30 for a BluRay disc, which if they want to watch on another device than a BluRay player, have to buy AGAIN cause it doesn't work cross-platform.

This way the pirate gets away with free shit and the honest consumer pays much more than they should have to. But, as long as prices don't come down, people will keep pirating. It's a vicious cycle which *tin foil hat* is mainly because of the greed of major companies in the industries.

Isn't Popcorn Time open source anyway? Meaning anyone could host the service and I think one version even comes with a built-in VPN. Blocking them is never going to work.

I wasn't even aware of this site until today and I can clarify that Plusnet don't block S@#t :) and this site sucks! It's a adware haven also wouldn't be surprised if there isn't some ransomware hidden in there somewhere.

Moral of this - Go to the cinema and enjoy films properly and if you really must have them at home get Netflix or some other form of legit streaming service. Professional people worked hard to create the entertainment - Pay for it!

i stream some stuff..
Mostly stuff thats on in america about 2-3 months before it gets to the uk..
So if they want to stop me streaming from places they do not want me to stream from..
just put them on here the day after they are on in the usa.
Its not like it would be a problem.

But again i had never heard of this site. but an issue with isp blocking is that it is pointless.
you can just grab a cached view of the page from any number of search engines and bypass the block any way.
"among a whole host of other options."

With streaming services starting to crack down on VPNs from streamers in outside regions it won't be a problem for much longer. Mainly Netflix but it's needed for obvious reasons.

Well I'm sorry for not having English as my native language and therefore didn't quite get the angle dude.

Has nothing to with language... you've used that english thing before.. shouldn't blame language everytime.. we're all educated enough to pick out what you mean and understand your thoughts.. and the fact your writing skill isn't that bad.
I stated they were cracking down for VPN users. Who are trying to get into Netflix from the US as we have the most content on there. For obvious reasons they should be cracking down on it.. your "such as" comment was just asking me to explain but it's quite obvious why they shouldn't allow it. But i'll explain anyway.. They lose contracts with TV shows/Movie publishers and therefore lose content available to the consumers because VPN users are from foreign countries/regions outside the US. They therefore do not have the "legal right" to view content that's only permitted to Netflix in one territory, because allowing it they end up losing money. So they pull the contracts from Netflix and Netflix cannot legally continue to display the content. Hence why Netflix is cracking down on it.

Not to cause an arguement here, but language does have to do with it. Yes, my writing skill may not be that bad, but that doesn't mean my reading nor my processing of English into actually understand everything in the context is.
And I've used it before, but I don't stamp it everywhere... I put it where I don't understand something and having someone, not you or so, just stating in general, almost saying I'm stupid for not understanding.

And here's something else, which has to do with language... I actually have to read that several times to try and understand what you just wrote in that text, even though you did explain it. But I just don't get it all therefore need to read it again... hence language.

But thank you for clarifying it though, appreciated.

There's no argument dude.. I never said you were stupid.. You just didn't realize you needed to think about why they were cracking down on it. You thought I gave a clear cut answer which I didn't, so you were just under the assumption I forgot to detail everything as to why they were cracking down on it. I have explained it in detail though now so hopefully it all makes more sense to you.

No problem, it's just a misunderstanding on your part and a lack of explaining on mine in the first place.

if it ever fails to read in english.. just google translate to your native langauge lol

Well truth is that when it comes to legal shit like this, even in my own native language... it's a real work around, specially since I studied law at my security guard course which was a real pain and it kicks in sometimes with this lol.

But I must admit, as much as I appreciate the further explanation... I still don't get my head around it, as to why they're cracking it down and regarding Netflix etc. Sorry my bad for being a slow nutterhead  :p

And fair point regarding google translate mate... but I hardly do it, as the grammar hardly does any justice at all. I mean, it's utter shit and is worse than if you actually try getting your head into it and translating everything yourself. That bad it is.

*Thumbs up*

Netflix already stated that they aren't doing anything to stop VPN users, it was a rumour.

That was 4 months ago.. Now copyright holders want Netflix to start banning them. If Netflix was smart they would do it or risk losing content and therefore users.

i dont stream the usa stuff from netflix though..
I stream them from other "unsavory" web sites, But i wouldnt need too if the channels on sky had the programs on the day after america rather than 2-3 months later which really there is no reason for these days.
i can watch all but 2 episodes of gold rush alaska via streaming before the series even starts on uk tv for example.

They can't ban it. They took down piratebay and its back up a million times over through proxys.

May as well give up trying to ban it.
