Title says it all basically.
I've never played around with uGuru up until now, my PC has been clocked on a Q6600 @ 3.2Ghz for months now, but I wanted to try pushing it a bit higher now I've made the jump to 4Gb memory on x64 Vista. Core Temp used to show temps easily getting upto 70 degrees on full load which is as far as I'm gonna push the CPU heat wise, but after installing uGuru I seem to be hearing the CPU fan actually picking up speed now and the system is cooler.
My problem is that when I've tried to change the mode of FanEQ inside the application my keyboard and mouse effectively die (suddenly no power or lights to either) and the system hangs (e.g. clock hangs so I know the system has hung), although I can hear that the CPU fan has ramped up.
Has anyone seen or heard of this before?? I've not been able to find anything specific reported before, and I've heard mixed reviews on uGuru, some love it others hate it.
I have enabled all the necessary FanEQ stuff in the BIOS as well. Event logs don't give me any love either.
Failing this, is there a better way to control my fan speed? Before uGuru was installed the fan idled at about 1000rpm but never sped up, I know it should be able to get to around 3000rpm if I needed it to (Infinity Scythe).
Any ideas??
Thanks for reading and have a great start to the new year chaps.
