Ugh...

Did you find the max for your memory and max fsb for your cpu already? If your memory isn't as high as your cpu which it won't be most of the time then run it on a divider(180 or 166 or maybe even more depending on memory) Then start clocking up the cpu on stock vcore. Once you start failing prime then raise the vcore a step and keep clocking up. Make sure that your memory is always running at or below the max that you found for it otherwise it will fail prime. Make sure to keep an eye on your temps and don't let them get too high. They can also cause prime to fail if they do get higher. A little more info would be nice though so we can figure out and maybe help ya OC that good ol' opty some more.

Windows isnt even stable at 2.1 and my vcores at 1.5 so that isnt teh problem, and my mem is fine. Somethins up with my opty i think, it idles at 43-45 and at load is 50-55.

My timings are at 2-3-2-8.

Using a Big Typhoon and I did apply AS5, and yes i did apply everything correctly because I didnt do it right the first time.

Try 3-3-3-8 mate. Thats a good medium.

Theres also a possibility that you have a chip that only works at the speed its supposed to.

put memory divider and 166mhz and then try. Or 150 mhz. The ram that you have is known not to oc high but it doesnt really matter since u can still run a divider without losing any performance. Try 2-3-2-5 timings and keep ur memory speed as close to 200 mhz as you can and apply the divider and oc away. You should need 1.5v for 2.1 ghz stable . More often than not , its your ram being the bottleneck. Can you post a screenshot of Cpu-z and A64tweaker ?

Somethins up wioth my cpu. I got up to 2.2 goin on 2.3 on 9x multi then my comp just keeps restarting. I loosened up the timings to 3-3-3-8 at 2.7v and it goes into a black screen. So I just cleared the cmos and everything is ok, but idk what the problem is.

Hmm, i dont think its my mem cuz i did lower it but i mite have faulty mem cuz i cant remember whether i ran memtest or not when i got my ram :p

i think i did though.

my temps are now at 38-40 idle and 43-45 at load :) weird.

It sounds like you didn't check to see how high your memory would OC before you started clocking the proc up. Take it one step at a time and you will get some results more to your liking.

:D

I tried 2.9 but wasnt stable, so i dropped it back down, its my mem i think. Didnt do prime95 yet, but it did superpi in 30s, but ill do 6hrs of that tomroow, but this is my first time ocing and im more than happy so far. I cant really figure out my situation before...

did u use the settings that i gave you ??? If so then did they help ? You dram seems a bit low . u could try around 2.75V and see if that helps. Is that 285 mhz with or without a divider ??

Well, he does have UCCC chips, so 2.6 isn't necessarily low. Anyways, good job man! Solid OC right there :)

since when did ocz platinum 2 gb kit start having uccc chips annihilus ??

Afaik , only their gold series used uccc chips. Confirm that for me please ???
