Today Ubisoft has had their trademark for Watch Dogs reinstated, after a prankster filed for the trademark to be abandoned by forging Ubisoft's CEO, Yves Guillemont's Signature.

A copy of the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) has released this file detailing the case, this case file is found here.

For those of you who do not know what Watch Dogs is, it is an upcoming open world action game where you play the role of Aiden Pearce, a skilled hacker who can hack pretty much anything in a alternative reality City of Chicago, USA. A title which remains one of the most eagerly anticipated games of 2014.

Here as a trailer for the Upcoming Game;

Express Abandonments can only be withdrawn in an extraordinary case, this was certainly the case here, Ubisoft said;

An unknown party who lacked authority executed the purported abandonment of the application. Although the request appears to have been sent by petitioner, petitioner declared that it did not submit the request and has every reason to believe that this filing was fraudulent

At present the person/persons who did this are unknown, and it is unknown whether Ubisoft will pursue whoever filed this fraudulent abandonment claim.

Gamers can now rest assured that Watch Dogs is still coming, but what do you guys think about this situation? Do you believe that the US should tighten the regulations of their Patent and trademark office, given Ubisoft could have lost out if they didn't regain their trademark? Please post below.
