I got a big discount on FC5 for buying it on the UBI store with my coins and a discount. IIRC it cost me £32? something like that.
I can't agree with you though Wraith. I could not even play the beta of FO76. I got my code from GAME and went off to Bethesda's site to activate it, then spent about two hours trying to sign up for an account. It didn't work, so I spent about an hour the next day trying the same. In the end I gave up.
My activation email arrived about two days before the game launched, so I figured "What's the point I may as well wait".
I can forgive FO76 for having poo graphics, as really that has never mattered to me. I can also forgive it for having no NPC, and all of the single factors. However, when you add all of those single factors up it turns into a big one. Then you see two games coming out that look about a million times better than FO76 already? yeah, it's all a bit damning.
We will see when Obsidian release their game. The one that graphically looks about 200 times better than FO76. From a tiny little studio who Bethesda trod on to save them money. A tiny little studio that clearly know how to make a game like this work in a modern engine.
Bethesda say that them using their own engine allows them to make games quicker. Thing is? if this game we are discussing here (FC) has been made using the same engine as FC5 in what? a year? using all of the tricks Bethesda had handy (like the same sized world, the same geographical layout, the same map area size and etc) then why did it take Bethesda two years to provide, what is, an empty game map?.
This FC game will obviously have a ton of quests and a story. Something FO76 does not have. Well, it has a story you read on terminals and notes, because there aren't any NPC.
