Ubisoft Reveals Far Cry New Dawn at The Game Awards

Well as the saying go's - egg's - count - chickens or something like that never know with games these days , as much as i do like a far cry game i still think they need to sort a major flaw out like enemies dont re spawn after you clear out the area leaving the game feeling empty and baron

Wait wait wait... so no one is going to pull Ubi apart like they did Bethesda or Blizzard? If anything this is worse, selling you Farcry 5 "again" because this is essentially the same map with assets already in place just re textured or model swapped and a small DLCs worth of vehicles and weapons sprinkled on top.

Wasn't that the exact same case with Primal and FC4? I think it's a cheap ripoff, but hey, if it works well, then why not. Also it's not a REAL full price title, although 40€ is still not something I'd consider cheap or DLC.

Well no one pulled Bethesda apart for FO76 until the beta came along and then the world went crazy when the game was released.

Pretty sure once Ubi release this, that is when the critics, heathens, and those who just like to moan will start to speak up.

Whoah whoah whoah let us make a few things clear here:

1 - the game is only $40 which is better then $60

2 - the map may be the same structure as the map from FC5 however you can't forget that redoing texture / animations / fire / scorch marks / etc for a apocalyptic setting does take a lot of developer effort and time and testing/retesting to make sure it all works as intended.

3 - weapons and vehicles again take time to create / test / retest / etc to make sure they all work as intended.

4 - developer time is money and at $40 bucks for the game with what the trailers have shown us then I consider it a steal...better than $60 haha.

5 - just remember when people bought up the COD: MW reskinned nonsense in bulk because COD: MW and the maps that came along with it for money when they were FREE to start with in the original launch....people are stupid and don't care because for most people it was "cheap enough to not care" (which is a dumb mentality).

Sorry for the long reply and if you're comment was a joke or a funny haha I apologize again :)

The graphics in FC5 were amazing and the game was among the best I've played in co op. This is a continuation from FC5, because if you watch closely old "Man bun" is at the end and IIRC he was the only dude you didn't kill.

So if this a full sized expansion of the last game? I don't care. It's better than taking over two years to make an empty map of FO4.

And hey, at least this looks stunning. TBH? I think UBI are holding all of the aces right now. Let's just pray they don't vanish into their own butthole like Bethesda seem to have.

And yes, I will still be playing 76 but I gotta say that right now this and Obsidian's new game have all of my attention.

You would think with Bethesda being as powerful as they are they could knock games out *much* faster than they do. And better too, not using old engines with crud graphics. It makes you wonder (other than sitting in court) what the jeff they have actually been doing.

I wondered that when they produced the scaled down graphics in FO4.

One thing they seem good at is keeping their IP safe from being leaked to the public. But maybe its under locked doors to prevent the disappointments. Yes I know graphics dont make a good game, but what they released still raised eyebrows.

People only ripped them because graphics were dogturd and people are tired of it. That and because there's not much to do. Then on top of it the people who spent the most money on the game got sold a wrongful product. Big difference.

FCND only has a trailer. We can't really say much. Plus it's cheaper.

There is nothing wrong with it and there is plenty to do. You'll find it's the tuber reviewers trolling for views who have slated it and their fan bases have spread the hate made worse by the fact half of them haven't played it.

Not wanting to sound like a shill or anything but I paid for fallout 76 and got what I wanted with the bonus of being able to play fallout with friends. Bethesda could have avoided all this media tripe had they just made the BETA public rather than hiding it behind a pay wall.

The biggest issue most people seem to have is it's an expansion being played off as if it's a brand new $60 game. It's not. I never played fallout, don't care for it, but my friends play it and they all tell me its the same just multiplayer. Not worth $60 to me.
$30? Sure.

FCND isn't being marketed as a brand new game, it's more of an expansion. It's a sequel to the last game, which means expect a lot of familiar things and features, but it's much cheaper at $40. They just marketed it right which is why I don't think people will make a big fuss about it.

I got a big discount on FC5 for buying it on the UBI store with my coins and a discount. IIRC it cost me £32? something like that.

I can't agree with you though Wraith. I could not even play the beta of FO76. I got my code from GAME and went off to Bethesda's site to activate it, then spent about two hours trying to sign up for an account. It didn't work, so I spent about an hour the next day trying the same. In the end I gave up.

My activation email arrived about two days before the game launched, so I figured "What's the point I may as well wait".

I can forgive FO76 for having poo graphics, as really that has never mattered to me. I can also forgive it for having no NPC, and all of the single factors. However, when you add all of those single factors up it turns into a big one. Then you see two games coming out that look about a million times better than FO76 already? yeah, it's all a bit damning.

We will see when Obsidian release their game. The one that graphically looks about 200 times better than FO76. From a tiny little studio who Bethesda trod on to save them money. A tiny little studio that clearly know how to make a game like this work in a modern engine.

Bethesda say that them using their own engine allows them to make games quicker. Thing is? if this game we are discussing here (FC) has been made using the same engine as FC5 in what? a year? using all of the tricks Bethesda had handy (like the same sized world, the same geographical layout, the same map area size and etc) then why did it take Bethesda two years to provide, what is, an empty game map?.

This FC game will obviously have a ton of quests and a story. Something FO76 does not have. Well, it has a story you read on terminals and notes, because there aren't any NPC.

Alien I totally get where you're coming from I really do, I spent a good few hours trying to register with bethesdas totally inadequate .net site with was a magic round about of "incorrect password" or "user name already in use" I'm like I know it's in use I'm trying to use it!!

As for Fallout I'm of the mind now 100% that the devs are just simply lazy and need a weeding out, get the chaff out and for the love of god bring the modders in to fix what should have been done weeks ago. I mean mods were rolling out during the BETA phase which were fixing issues that Beth clearly just ignored, we have a very very bright modding community who obviously know the engine far better than the lazy devs do and they are doing this for free. It blows my mind how people who are paid to produce this keep messing up and the modders are the ones fixing it.

Bethesda if you somehow do read this, bring the real talent onboard.

I just bought this. It was £37.99, but I had more than enough coins to buy a 20% discount so it cost me £30.

Looking forward to this muchly. No doubt the weather will be absolute tosh when it comes out, so yeah should be able to get stuck in :)

They've done this before, I think it was Instincts was a re-skinning of FC3's map if I recall correctly - this is just the same, change the textures and re-sell it!
