Ubisoft's biggest titles remain off Steam in the UK, but have now been added to Origin.

I notice some of the cd-key sites have Russian keys wondering if you can connect steam through a vpn to download the game on steam. otherwise I hope a lot of the UK get it from alternative free sites. Think I'd rather play candy crush over using uplay, origins not to bad

I use all 3 (Uplay, Steam and Origin) and I can easily say that Uplay is by far the worst. EA's Origin has gotten a lot better over time but my first choice is always Steam.

Hopefully Ubisoft can sort their stuff out and get these games back on Steam.

I agree although i've had games on Steam that when I started up just opened UPlay anyway which I found super annoying.

The thing is that most people use Steam by choice. If you want to purchase games in a store and play from disc, you can usually do that. Origin and Uplay are just shoved down your throat as you buy a game from that publisher.

I hate Origin too tbh. I always click the 'Remember me' checkbox at the log in screen, yet whenever I start Origin, I always have to log in manually again. And literally every. single. time. that I try to play a game on there it needs to update for 10 minutes first.

This news makes me think that Ubisoft have some issues with Steam? Cause they do put their games on the platform of the direct competitor (EA), but not on the platform that everyone prefers.

It is likely due to the flat rate that Steam charges developers. Ubisoft want people to use Uplay so that they take the whole cut, it it likely that EA give better rates than Steam.

That being said this isn't the first time the UK got an AC game late on Steam for this same reason.

must admit I have never had any issue with origin's auto login and updates, even downloading a game is as quick as steam. my only gripe with origin is on a fresh install of OS it has trouble finding the games again

i like the steam categories (favs etc...) plus the workshop support etc with origin its their way or the highway sadly :(

I also hate uplay coming up after ive chosen to play creed ... just use steam and boot i dont care about the uplay points lol

As long as I don't have to use Uplay I'll be content. Obviously I'd prefer all of my games to be consolidated, but Origin is not a terrible compromise.

Wishful thinking on my part. I've had so many problems with Uplay.

I've only ever had 1 problem with Uplay and that's the problem of it deleting my Black Flag saves when I put 30 hours into the game, Only 40% through the main story but did nearly every side quest.

Lost the motivation to play it again incase it happens again :(

And you can't even back your saves up properly as the save files are encrypted in such a way that makes them incompatible with new installations of Uplay and the game :(

That's pretty bad. I usually back up all my save games just in case.

Splinter Cell: Conviction has never worked for me and other games never start on the first attempt. And to top it all off their support is disgraceful.

I hear ya, I got in contact with them because Anno 2070 keeps saying it requires a key, So I put the key in and it says I have used up all activations, I get in contact with them, They treat me like a crook, I verbally shout at them as I bought the damn game through Steam and they have an archaic DRM in place and demand my activations back.

Ubisoft are the worst, EA used to be bad but they really cleaned up their act in the last few years when it comes to customer support.

Ubisoft either need to go die and never be heard from again or seriously clean up their act because right now they are pure shit.

Its a shame really, because I was pretty excited for Far Cry 4, but I don't feel right giving them my money. At least Tom gave me Black Flag to play (from a competition/giveaway) ;)

I wouldn't expect anything else from good old Ubisoft.

I've purchased most of my Ubisoft games on sale so I don't feel too bad when the proverbial shit hits the fan.

DRM-free/GOG>Steam>Origin>Uplay>GFWL

Yes Uplay is shit but better than GFWL.

I honestly never had a single problem with GFWL, I've only ever had 1 problem with Steam not starting properly and erasing my custom category setup and 1 problem with Uplay deleting my Black Flag save, Other than that not a thing and I use Origin, Steam, Uplay and GFWL :)

Hate Uplay.. First off these games i won't be buying. I'd rather play them on a PS4. Less hassle and less Uplay!(mainly because i won't be buying them, someone else is lol)

Also Uplay are greedy arses. I got a key for Watch Dogs. Decided i should update my email to a different one.. after doing so its gone. Contact support and they give me a link to.. get this -contact support- Yep wtf? I clicked on it brings me right back to the same page where the guy kept saying the same shit. Told him f--- you and ended support. Lost the game. Probably gonna delete everything related to them.
