Two XFX RX 500 series GPUs have been pictured

Why oh why did XFX change their cooler design their last series was the nicest looking GPU on the market IMHO or am I thinking of another brand here? You remember the one with that lovely smooth shroud with soft curves?

Was that not the Sapphire RX 480?

I'm not sure how I feel about these guys. I'm glad to see someone stepping outside of the norm, and they look better than EVGA's newest cards, but I'm not sold entirely.

Thats one of my favourite coolers all time, in terms of looks that is. The cooling was questionable as far as I know :P

I am 90% sure that cooler was amongst the best there was for the 290/x. It stayed in the 70C range, albeit it wasn't the quietest, but not the worst either.

I seem to remember problems with VRM cooling over the long term. In terms of cooling the core in benchmarks, it didnt have a problem.

I have the r9 290 and I have it slightly overclocked, vrm temperatures are within reason and the cooler is as silent as the two noctua fans on the cpu cooler, can't complain at all

Fair enough, maybe it was a slightly different version, but i know a similar xfx cooler had vrm issues
