TTL is spreading across the internet

I was watching a live stream from Linus (of LinusTechTips) the other day and sort of perked up when TTL got a shoutout. It was in the midst of a conversation about Elric/motherboardsorg/techtomorrow and they were discussing how a channel is pretty much made by it's presenter. It's at 25:57 and it lasts about 30 seconds and then they go on to compare Tom to Charlie Sheen (at least, that's how I interpretted it) ;)

I just thought it was worth a mention here in case anybody (like me) watches both channels and finds this kind of satisfying.
 
Well, Tom would be known in most, if not all hardware enthusiast circles, so it's not a surprise he was mentioned.

Tom was compared to Charlie Sheen in the sense that he is the face of OC3D and without him people would quickly unsub or stop watching OC3D.tv

They never said it was?
Tom's YouTube channel is called TimeToLiveCustoms, and he goes under the alias of Tiny Tom Logan.

Personally, I think it's cool Tom was mentioned, as they didn't have to endorse him in any way, and they put him in quite a prestigious light.

OC3D TV is another part of the main OC3D website. The YouTube channel has been keeping these forums going for about 2 years!

I don't think it would be dead without TTL.

I think it would take a big hit, but I think with the right educating somebody else would be able to fill the gap. They used one example, which isn't even a very good one...
...What about Steve Jobs and Apple? They haven't even taken much of a hit from that despite all expectations.

It just depends how it was managed. Most people don't go into detail on reviews because; a) they don't have an eye for it, b) it's too time consuming and not worth the effort. c) they're then even more of a direct competition with Tom, who realistically they're never going to beat ;)

I think potentially some bright minded soul could carry on Tom's legacy if they were to keep up the same old hour long videos and be able to carry on talking to people as if they were mates rather than it just being a job to them.

But remember when Jeremy said that he would make James May his minister of transport? Then everyone would have to have a Fiat Panda and drive at 20mph, and the busses would have valor upholstery...

TBH I did word it wrong.What I meant was that the whole TTL customs was a separate thing from OC3D(I remember you first getting your very own section on the forum).


Still not worded the best,but I know what I mean.
 
hehe, I was starting to feel like a troll for trying to catch up on threads daily as I can view the forums all day at work, but seeing Rossi post in almost every active thread makes me feel less bad! :P
