Trouble OCin my 7900gt

Ive always had trouble ocin my card, its pretty much never stable above stock speeds (470/1300). I don't really want to do a volt mod because I'm lazy and I don't need to. I had my card at 530/750 and it was okay for awhile but while gaming, the screen would freeze and it would go back to normal with a little choppiness. But when I run 3dmark05/06, I dont have these kind of problems. I just need some advice on what to do.

Unfortunately the 7900GT series are notorious for overclocking problems. I've got the same problems with my card.

Most people RMA'd their cards because they found that after a while they wouldn't run at stock speeds without problems. :(

Yep, a lot of 7900GT's have suffered from this issue. It's wise if you're gonna get a GT, to get the factory overclocked one, so at least you'll have the included warranty.

I think my 7900GS is starting to hate overclocking too... or its just cause my XP installation is balls. (ATi to nVidia, 512MB to 1GB to 2GB, etc etc.)

When I set clocks in Coolbits (POS) my screen freaks out, going black, then coming back, then black again. Sigh, makes me miss my ATi. (Which was a bit more enjoyable to OC.)
