THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS OVERKILL SINCE YOU CAN NEVER BE TOO CAREFUL!!!!

But seriously, max respect for your sound setup

Thinks i am selling mine looking at a pair of krk's instead the 70watt krk rp6's? 130 watts seems lil too much lol plus miss having desk space lol:P will definately being buying another sub if i do sell them though looking at afew options there.

Hey man, I'm an audio engineer so if you want any advice on speakers feel free to ask! The KRKs are pretty good for the money, I personally have a pair of ADAM A7's and a MOTU 896 mkiii interface but I need these to mix on from home. If you want something that sounds more hyped up and cinema esq I would look at KEF, ADAM Hifi, PMC Hifi, ATC Hifi, B&W, Linn Audio etc... rather than KRKs, as studio monitors tend to make things sound worse because of their accuracy and brutal detail.

Also remember the room you are listening in is AS important as the speakers you buy. As the sound is not only going from the source to your ears but from the source, off every surface in the room and then too your ears. You shouldn't need a subwoofer if you have a good enough set of 2.0 speakers in a good room. A lot of the best sounding records in the world are mixed on near-field (typically, smaller than 8" LF drivers).

My knowledge of hi-fi speakers is limited but if you want a decent amount of desk space and some big sounding speakers I quite like these new little ADAM speakers, the A3X's.

If you want more bottom end you could add: http://www.dv247.com/studio-equipment/adam-sub-7-pro--50643

ADAM speakers may not be to your taste though as they have ART-X ribbon tweeters in which make them sound a lot brighter and more forward than more traditional designs such as KRKs or PMCs.

I hope that may of enlightened you a little! Sorry for the rambling, it's 4am!

Lol no both i always appreciate rambling tis how i learn

and i was going for monitors as i am slowly learning to do a little music production(I use the word slowly rather intensely lol)so i appreciate the accuracy, monitors although accurate i found after messing around with the eq a little bit can give you as much bass as any normal speakers and hide afew flaws. bass is more just for the damn that explosion felt real feeling

. I will definitely look into the ones suggested though.

Oh yeh and for the room comment. I was just getting to grips with that i the other room with bass traps, positioning and compensating for surfaces when i got chucked out lol so like i said I'm going to have to work out best positioning for new room.....You may ask to pick your brain on that shortly

lol

I've been to my local music production shop today and tried out some smaller monitors... the ADAM A3X's were easily the best!
