Super hyped about this supporting it. Unlike other games that are patching DX12 in(which I'm sure CA are doing to) this game actually has a CPU limit that DX12 can help with. Although hyped, also prepared for it to be a flop. Although this partnership is interesting. TW typically supports Nvidia better, so the fact they went with AMD either means because it's easier with DX12 or they are bundling the game and GPUs together

Even on CPUs like a 5960X TW games run badly so don't expect great things from DX12 here.

I think their games will continue to be real memory hogs with either DX11 or DX12.

Well before the games were 32bit so there's no way it was a memory hog:p also single core only so really can't expect an 8 core CPU to improve it..

For the first time it's 64bit and multi core. It should bring big improvements.Like I said, DX12 should help eliminate the frequency of being CPU limited, but I'm still prepared if it's a flop. Hopefully they work really close with AMD and Nvidia to get it right

Total War has been a real performance hog in the past. I really hope that they can really deliver something good this time.

Creative Assembly were the people behind Alien Isolation, which is a great PC port, so hopefully Warhammer will be a change for the total war franchise.

The problem with there performance I'm my experience is the overall FPS. Mine never gets real low but it also doesn't get really high(unless in campaign map). I'm putting that down to single core and 32bit though since adding more GPU horsepower didn't really help much. Same with the CPU, adding a more powerful one didn't improve it much either.

Although I really disagree that's it's a memory hog. I barely use any ram/vram in TW, compared to Wither 3 where I had to actually physically add more memory to avoid crashing

The TW games run fine if they support multi GPU setups so the problem is not with the CPU.

With RTW2 which does support SLI I can get 90fps running my TXs @stock and using 2160p maxed.

It is during gameplay when there is about 10K+ units on screen. Gets all laggy and unplayable. The TW benchmark imo are pretty crap and doesn't represent actual gameplay performance. Although I'd love to hear your results with FX in xfire anyways. That's impressive for 4K for any game, even if the benchmark is meh:p

FX in XFire don't work very well at all as the game devs don't really do much to support it.

If anything the Total War Franchise has usually been partnered with Intel, I am pretty sure I have seen a Intel splash screen for most recent Total war games.

Well that's true, but historically Nvidia is better supported. Even in Shogun 2 it had an AMD Gaming logo but Nvidia still performed better :D
