Hi ya fellas,

Just wondering who's got 2Gb of Crucial Ballistix 4000.

Got mine the other day and im using the 623-1 Bios for the DFi SLi-DR

What is the best bios to use and what timings can you get your memory to?

I can get 230x12 for some 2700mhz goodness but i want more from the memory as i can only do this at 3-3-3-8 1T timings at 2.8v.

Whats the best voltage to run these micron chips at ??? high? low??

Not bothered about sticking a 120mm fan over them so if it means 3.6v so be it!!! :D

Cheers dudes

Are these sticks TCCD..? if so then u want the revision 3 of that bios..

what timings can u run them sticks @ when at stock...?

Lets not get the issue too confused here.

-1 id for TCCD TCC5 ram

-2 is for BH, CH and UTT

-3 is generic

So for ballistix, micron or hynix you need -3 BIOS on DFI NF4 boards.

704-3 works well for me. As Mav states you want -3rd revision. I run mine at 260 3-3-3-8 24/7 as my cpu does 10x260 24/7

The sticks do 272htt with 2.8V.

They don't seem to get very hot so no need to cool the ram. You might find 2.7v gets you higher htt than higher voltage - they don't like high voltage. I'd say 2.8v is the highest.

Seems to be a bit of confusion around regards which bios for which chips. I was quoting from this guide:-

-1 for TCCD/Micron/UTT-CH/UTT-BH/BH/CH This is the general bios that should work ok but is not optimized for any specific memory, -3 for TCCD/Micron, -2 for UTT-CH/UTT-BH/BH/CH

Anyway I've found 704-2BT is best for TCCD and Micron for my setup so who can tell :)

There are only two places you should look for that sort of info - DFI street being one and I wont mention the other as it is not appropriate - Pershoot and Mr DFI BIOS himself (Mr Wu) all state:

-1 TCCD/TCC5

-2 BH5

-3 ALL

The BIOS Cyclepath uses is a modded BIOS - so who knows which table they are working from and although he has got good result swith his rig - the aboe is the guidance of the guy who wrote the BIOS to start with and his trusty sidekick.

Cheers
