Time for me to buy a RIG

Hey Guys,

I want a PC and I need to sell my laptop first dammit.

Ok my MAX BUDGET IS $2500 but I might be able to go higher.

I am in Australia so that will help you to suggest better parts and pricing etc.

This is what I have planned:

CASE: CM Stacker or Antec P180

PSU: Antec 550 Watt

CPU: AMD Opteron 146

Motherboard: ASUS A8N-SLI-Premium (would CPU work on that?)

RAM: Some 1GB or 2GB Kit of Corsair or OCZ or something great

Video Card: A 7800 GTX 256mb OR 512mb depending on pricing

I may add HDD's (Depends on final Budget)

I don't need HDD's, a Keyboard, mouse, monitor or speakers.

I will be using this PC for:

1. Multimedia (DVD Burning etc)

2. Gaming

3. Storing my Anime (I have 1x250GB PATA and a 1x200Gb SATA)

If its possible I might extend that budget to $3000

So, Im asking for 2 Possible solutions each with the Cm Stacker and the P180

1. A $2500 Budget PC

2. A $3000 Budget PC

hey mate, i live in australia as well, where are you going to get that opteron from,

for a better motherboard id say get the dfi lanparty ultra d, or sli-d, dont get the corsair ram get some nice tCC5 OCZ

OCZ TCC5 Ram with be considered as well of those DFI mobo's

www.nintek.com.au is the site I am consindering buying the CPU, Mobo and ram from.

I do know my hardware and crap but not the new stuff

EDIT: I may Consider buying All parts from NinTek

Mobo: ASUS A8N-SLI Premium ($275-$300

CPU: AMD X2 4400+ $790

CPU Cooler: Scyth Ninja with Fan $99

RAM: 2GB of Corsair, G Skill or OCZ about $400

Video Card: XFX Geforce 7800GTX (Maybe Overclocked Edition) around $750 to $850

DVD Burner: BenQ DW1640 $69
