I thought it about time we gave you an insight in just what we do when we review "stuff".
Facts you may not know about testing:
* GPU and motherboard reviews get a Fresh Install of XP before testing
* All tests get run three times to check consistency (sometimes more)
* The OC3D PSU Load Tester reaches 250°C+ during load testing
* The OC3D PSU Load Tester loads all RAILs simultaniously and we output the digital readings from the RAILs straight to a PC for analysis
* Further to the Game Tests and Benchmarks, graphics cards are put through their paces for quite a few hours normal gaming with around 5 different games
* The motherboard stability checks run for 13hours at least and usually more. We also do some F@H whilst normal gaming to assess stability
* Keyboards reviews do not get released until the keyboard has been used as the primary keyboard for that reviewer for a week
* Coolers get mounted at least twice to ensure the results are accurate
* Monitors get tested thoroughly from several sources, including PC and Xbox 360
Facts you may not know about our contact with manufacturers:
* Overclock3D gives itself a deadline of two weeks for each review, unless there are issues or we are specifically asked to do the review in less time (the record is two nights!)
* The average review takes from 3 days to a week to complete
* All reviews are given to the manufacturers 24 hours or one working day before publication to give manufacturers a chance to respond to any issues raised in the reviews
* We are constantly in touch with manufacturers during the review period to make sure that any problems with products are ironed out in a fair way
* We are constantly chasing to get the latest products for our readers and we listen to and respond to as many review requests as possible
* Manufacturers have no say in the final score of the review item. Manufacturers attempting to increase final scores are not dealt with again (this has happened)
