Technically speaking anything over 1,440watts is more than most homes can handle. Simply based on the more common 15A breaker used for bedrooms/offices. 15A × 120V × .80(safety factor) = 1,440 Watts.

Replacing that with a 20A breaker brings that total to 1,920Watts. The next common breaker size available is 30A however they are not the same style receptacles and therefore makes this PSU useless in the American market.

Hope that explains to anyone wondering why :)
