thermalright hr-09

Do wish u`d linky it m8 ;)

U have to understand, most of the guyz read it and thought "oh yeah" - I read it and thought "oo oo don`t remember what that looks like, got an 03..".

.. and being in lazy mode, I probably won`t look it up either >.<

lol

Ahhh no. I thought thermalright would have twigged how heat pipes worked by now:(.

And was reading that the digi PWMs on the QuadGT get to like 60° on the stock cooler...

i got a package today....

i'll be fitting that thing......very soon.....i hope.....

I love the look of that, also good to see you have a decent camera weihk looking forward to seeing your fully mounted piccy's.

shame it wont fit on my sli-dr just for looks, i might get some cable ties on it :D

Hope you got a digi pwm board so we can see some results.:D

May get one for the P5K-E when ST FINALLY get them in.

Still fail to see the point. My ICFX has a digi PWM and has swifty RAMsinks on it - no heat problems at all

Very much overkill

Looks pretty cool tho

Every account i read of them they fell off. Maybe you got lucky:p

You have each 1 sink on each pwm? and what kinda temps you get?

Max temps I get are about 30°C when fully loaded (ITE Smart Guardian) and it's about 25°C in here

3 sinks in total like so (2 per sink):

using swiftech heatsinks here too with the original sticky pads/tape

on this board they do feel a bit hot tho, so i place an antec spot cool over them (on medium)

I was thinking about trying the HR-09's but after reading about the problems people had getting them to fit... (even though the boards were listed as being compatible :nono: ) i thought i'd give them a miss for now

and this is the other reason why i got the H(ell)R(aiser)-09....im worried swifty sinks falling off!:D

while these things look good, are they going to actually change things? they may lower the pwm temps a lot, which may decrease overall temps, but i think the cost is a little off-putting. if i had money for these and a good air cooler, id just forget it all and go water as then price wouldnt be a major differential.

Only problem with that is heat dump...

The 680i board's northy gets pretty hot....and I already have a clocked CPU and dual 8800GTXs in the loop....so I think adding another restriction and source of heat may damage the cooling performance a tad too much.

well.........i did get it fitted.....and its FACKING HOT!!!!!!!!!

not very good pictures, but you get the idea......

before i fitted this bling bling to replace the standard ones, e.g. Asus crap pipe, it never was 'hot' to my touch, even tho i had the board running 1.5v@3.6Ghz.......

i have to say this tho.......if you have a Commando board, i would HIGHLY recommend this bling bling to replace the crap pipe that came with it....

read this :- http://www.thermalright.com/a_page/main_support_hr09.htm

before you give me crap saying they are a lying bunch of money grabber.......no, what thermalright put in that FAQ is true, tho, i only have a Commando board.

the crap pipe from Asus, only have contact with 4 mosfet on my board, but i have 8?!

after a bit of fiddling about, i've managed to get this bling bling to cover 6, not 8, but better than crap pipe.

you can, however, cover all 8, with a bit of modding, ie, dremel.......

even tho you say, water it is better for the money.......consider that i got it from USA, which works out cheaper than either air or water in the UK.....so.....take your pick!
