the amazing potential of Cryengine3 demonstrated here, I wonder how much gpu/cpu horsepower is required to run this demo hopefully we will see stuff like this in future games I think these guys should team up the the creators of ARMA for an awesome war game then team up with ROCKSTAR for an awesome GTA style game

That was pretty good, some parts looked totally realistic. It's a shame more games don't use the Cryengine, it's definitely the best game engine, better and more realistic than the Unreal engine anyway but the Unreal engine is more console friendly, so most games will be using that.

The biggest reason most games use the unreal engine is price. It's pretty old and along with the source engine is one of the cheapest engines a company can buy. If you're not aware, game devs have to buy a license to use an engine. The CryEngine is one of the most, if not the most expensive games engine out there. It's a bit of an Apple approach. They design their engine to work well with their games. That plus the fact they're superior coders it allows Crytek to charge high prices for their engine. It's something ridiculous like £3 mil. To rent their engine...

LOL.. mock chevrolet 1988-1998 C1500 cab and chassis with a

1994-2005 chevrolet S10 bed (tail lights and tailgate). but, yeah looks

pretty realistic in undercarriage details, too.

LOL I am glad I am not the only one who noticed that.

But anyway.

This is nice and all but unless someone can make an OPTIMIZED game using CryEngine I hope no one uses it. EVERY game that I have seen using the CryEngine (post Free Radical) has been un-optimized crap (not the game just performance). Crysis 1 & 2 being prime examples of un-optimization, after a few years they worked most of the bugs out of Crysis 1 but Crysis 2 is just a mess especially when you look at the wireframe. I prefer the demo I say of the "Good Samaritan" that unreal showed.
