The orange box

Hi guys,

Been wanting to build myself an all out gaming rig for a while now, something small but powerful, a little pocket rocket you could say, not sure of the full spec yet but have started with these, I did research mini ITX mobos and yeah there is a fair amount of choice out there but nothing that really caught my eye on the power side of things however i did settle on this as a start, the mobo will be a P8Z77 I Deluxe neatly packed within a Bitfenix Prodigy Mini ITX Case, my next sure purchase will definitely be the be an i5 3570K. The rest I am not so sure as of yet, all advice welcome of course. I was actually contemplating getting the dremel out the side panel and window this case up :boink:

again all advice welcome :)

Kaney.

looks good man, though dont put a window in the sides, one will be covered by the gpu (+ youll loose its airflow grill) and the other will see the backside of the power delivery board on the side of the mb.

a top window maybe?

btw, orange case looks GG

Thanks Choklitmlk,

the case is a bit of in joke at work as ORANGE is sort our company colour, bit of piss take but I like the case :p

And yeah you are right when the GPU is installed all you will see is a wall of GPU :(

Time to think about some good airflow and maybe an H80i exhausting !

Cheers :)

i agree i really like the colour of the case, and i have seen some really cool mods with this case

cheers guys,

I didn't realise that an orange build would be remotely popular :)

.......... anyway orange parts theme not that easy for me to find at the moment, was looking at G-Skill ARES Ram (orange) and maybe as a treat for me for christmas I was thinking a GTX680 ZOTAC (ORANGE).

as for mods I need to do my research as it really is a fun case and capable of quite a lot from what I have seen so far but yeah I am not apposed of a window in the roof, not sure yet how to get this mod looking good I need to examine the case a bit more and arm myself with my trusty dremel, but yeah worth looking at and trying something different maybe.

Thing is now having the P8Z77i mobo its all very blue ! but orange is definitely where i am going :p

soon be payday let me get some more kit bought and then you will here me scream for more help !!

cheers guys, all very much appreciated :)

I'm lovin' the orange!! Didn't even realise that they were available in this country. Surprised Von Blade hasn't commented on it...

H100i in the roof would be sweet.

cheers Sheroo,

this little baby is gonna be fun ! I must do my research but I have just found a Bitfenix Prodigy Owner's Club,
here is a good place to eek out some ideas me thinks :p

 wow this seems to have a few peoples attention already!
what is it with everyone and orange? There is a lot of love this little case!

I shall do my best to create a beautiful orange monster, but mostly i wanna have some fun with this build so maybe a little bit of trial and error could be in order :p

Hey AverageNinja,

It will be ZOTAC amp but Why would you go for the 670 over a 680 ?

Is it the same old argument? and admittedly I have an msi670 PowerEdition and overclocking it to a 3D mark11 score of over 10000+ I am guessing I could do the same with the ZOTAC 670 ? so then its sort of pointless and save yourself £100 nikker and go for the 670 !
......BUT ........ wouldnt you, if you could, just plop in a 680 instead ? fuck it a 690 for that matter and i would spray the bugger ORANGE

I am gonna check the cost of a 670 Zotac, i am tempted to step it up !

YEP fair enough just checked out some reviews and i quote, and there are many:-

'Overclocked, beefed up version of gtx670 that's easily as powerful as vanilla gtx680's.
Eats every game I've thrown at it for breakfast and gives very good frame rates. '

hairy pie AverageNinja this is a savvy buy and it is much cheaper than the 680:) once again you come to my rescue :p

At your service mate :)

Hi sheero,

Fans loads and loads of option this baby, I have just got my mitts on this it will be with me tomorrow will share pics on arrival :-
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-072-BX

This will give me good control of what ever air solution.combination I plug for, oh and the front face will be sprayed up Orange.

As the option of fans in this little baby is fantastic -
Cooling Front: 120mm x 2 (120mm x 1included) or 140/180/200/230mm x 1(optional)
Cooling Rear: 120mm x 1 (included) or 140mm x 1(optional)
Cooling Top: 120mm x 2 (optional) The hole is ready to be honest IF a window in the roof was an option just little bit of dremel action :)

To Fans.............
An option would be to fit x2 120mm Corsair 120SP Performance Editions as the front of the case is closed off has no through put as it is a closed boxed and from within is tight space with then drive bays from top to bottom, I may remove the top set of bays though to give it some air flow and space.

For the rear this could be again a Corsair Performance 120AF or 140AF exhausting OR an H80i doing the rear exhausting with a spot of CPU cooling too !! Failing that stick with the 120AF/140AF exhausting and plug the H100i in the roof with x2 120SP exhausting up and out !

I am gonna window out one of the panels too, I have just sourced this and the finish looks great with 5mm sheet acrylic with black rivets, so will show the ZOTAK GPU ORANGE with fans facing you... sexy !
