The massive hype pretty much ensures this will be a major disappointment.

I, for one, expect progress a la Intel. 15-25% performance increase for the same cost. Less TPD. Possibly a new all-time-high record cost for top cards.

But i hope i will be pleasantly surprised! I got a GTX780 that now needs either replacing or a 'brother'.

I'm not that hyped for the Pascal release because it won't really mean anything until Polaris gets onto the field. Once we have both, then it gets exciting.

I am expecting around a 5% to 10% increase in performance over the 980Ti, with lower power usage and lower temps but a increase in price over the 980Ti.

Well let me know if it needs a brother, I have 2 that need adopting :D

I think the countdown hype will also be lacklustre.

Ya I agree, Pascal is far overhyped. I'm more excited to see Polaris, they have more to gain than Nvidia, especially for power consumption

FINALLY!!!!!

So excited for a moment, then realized it's just a release. The high end GPU i want for my notebook will cost a crap load too.

May not even be a release. Could just be a reveal. Like the chip and reference cooler along with specs of the first released cards.

What do you think -another 6-12 months for Big Pascal?

What's AMD's release strategy been like for the last few generations? Do they launch their top tiers or will they start with the lower ones like Nvidia have been?

Be interesting to see how it pans out. If Polaris is really good then NV may have to go Big earlier than they're currently planning.
Win-win for us really so fingers crossed.

Gonna be skipping this one and waiting for GP100, No game I play has anywhere near low FPS, Get's hot, Noisey etc... so upgrading would be slightly pointless plus I want the upgrade to be immense not just 20-30%.

Same as me, I get high FPS in all of the games i play ;)

Yeah whilst there's always going to be the early adopters, people with deep pockets or a need to have the latest and greatest, I doubt there'd be any compelling reason to upgrade from a 980/980Ti Fury/Fury X or even the next tier down.

Much like Ivy bridge is still quite competitive with Skylake. The cost of upgrading versus performance gain just isn't there.

Of course this is all theoretical until they're actually announced but it's probably worth skipping every second generation unless you upgrade a major component like to a 4k or a very fast 3440/1440 panel.

It's rumored for July for Nvidia for a full release, if this Nvidia thing is anything I think it's just a reveal or a new Tegra chip for the Shield or automobiles.. AMD on the other hand have said before end of June. What will be releasing idk. Could even be a full blown lineup.

I'd say that is an immense upgrade.

I'd say that is an immense upgrade.

I just don't need anything at the moment, I play Diablo 3 or SWTOR most of the time and maxed out both easily run at 100FPS+.

Plus as I said I want my next GPU upgrade to make my jaw drop due to being stupidly powerful ^_^

Sold my R9 290X in preparation, for getting a new card. Looking forward to seeing how Nvidia and AMD stack up this time around.

I'd like to sell my fury x to prepare.. But seems like it'll still be top dog a long with the 980ti so no point:p
