As of this moment, the specs are-

Bitfenix shinobi case (no window)
asus p8-z77-vlk motherboard
4x4gb corsair vengeance ram (1600mhz)
Asus hd7870 DC2 gpu
i5 3450 3.1ghz quad core
H80i water cooling unit, with arctic silver thermal paste
120gb SSD (OS drive)
2x 2tb HDD - programs/games on one, game recordings on other
620w antec modular psu (hcg)
bitfenix hydra pro fan speed controller

This is running through a dual screen set up with mis matched size screens :\ the 7870 is idling around 40 degrees in australian summer and under load it gets to around 60 degrees in dayz standalone, so temps seem to be in check for the gpu. My method of directing orders to my computer is through el cheapo keyboard and a Steelseries Sensei Raw mouse.

Heres the case, i did attempt to clean it but the soft touch finish seems to be rather difficult to keep clean

and heres the inside!

as you can see, theres plenty of cable management to be done yet, i've been doing things here and there trying to improve it over the past two days and i got a few ideas after taking these pictures for what to do next

The back currently, until i get some zip ties its going to be pretty messy back there.

Today i spent some more time on cable management, and its looking alot neater now, however the hardrive data cables are still making a mess.
I re-routed all the fan control cables so now they arent visible at all, i re routed the cables that go to the button panel, and redid the power cables for hardrives.

I also considered the h80i waterblock rotation, and found theres actually a reason its on its side- it doesnt fit upright, the hoses would hit the RAM. so sorry tinytomlogan, you're going to have to snap your neck when looking at my build :(

I also replaced some thumb screws that had rust on them with fresh ones, and changed the screws on the disc drive from thumb scews to normal screws. i tried to change the SSD tray screws to black ones, but i only had one screw of same thread.

That 3 pin thing doesnt go into the fan header - if youre using link you dont need to fit it at all IMHO

Also get that H80 fitted the right way up its making my neck hurt looking at it

It wont hurt the tubing to mount it correct way? im all for it if the water cooling tubing is fine. oh and i wont have to do anything with the thermal paste if im just quickly rotating it, right?
and i didnt quite understand the first part you said, sorry.

ill get onto the h80i tomorow since its almost 9pm here and do some cable management also. what should i do with hard drive cables? the hardrives are like 2 cm from the the motherboard connection, so i cant see many options for making them look neater..

Edit-

Questions--
1- if i rotate the h80i waterblock, will i need to change the thermal paste?
2- what software should i use to monitor my i5 CPU?
3- for radiator- quiet or performance edition sp120s, if connected to fan speed controller?
4- will mounting the radiator with hoses at top have any noticable different in cooling potential? i read quickly through the handbook which recommended mounting the hoses side on bottom.

1. i'd recommend changing it, or else u could have trouble with the temps
2. try HWMonitor, it's very good :)
3. i use Quiets, and they're more than enough ;)
4. well, Corsair do recommend it, so i'd do it if u're able to (i'm not due to having my H75 mounted in the rear of a Prodigy case with 2 fans on the top)

OP updated (27th feb)
cable managementand general maintenance.

Edit-
I just had an idea about using one of the fillers for the 5.25 bays to make a custom facia for the disc drive. i might pull apart a spare disc drive to investigate possibilities, has anybody done this before? i just tried quickly, was only able to get 3 of the 4 sides of the facia loose, and no obvious way to release the fourth side.

Okay last night i downloaded CPU-Z and HWMonitor for monitoring the core temps and such. I'm planning to download Heaven benchmark to stress test the gpu, however what should i use to test the cpu?
also, i cannot find the fan speed button on the h80i, embarrassing yes but its running on maximum speed right now and really getting on my nerves.
What temps should i expect from i5 3450 on stock clock(3.1ghz) running the h80i? right now without even opening any games HWMonitor is telling me its reached almost 70 degrees, which i find quite worrying... my guess its close to 30 degrees though in my room, no aircon for me.
Really itching to replace the h80i fans with 3 pin sp120s so they will fit my fan controller
I suspect theres something seriously wrong here.

Alright, did a few things today, some subtle some more noticable, lets play a game of spot the difference
ill give a hint to what i didnt do- remove or flip the top fan. that will wait until after i make a few other changes so i can get a accurate comparison.

planning on getting a bunch of different fans and stuff needed to reseat the cpu asap.
considering 2x sp120 perf for the h80i, with 3 pin connectors so i can put them on the fan controller, and then 3x binfenix spectre pro as case fans. the default case fan up top, and the silly fans up front arent quite matching the bill right now.

Im hugely enjoying my Steelseries sensei raw, the rubberised finish is absolute heaven!

PC is also now sitting ontop of my table and my desk organiser has been sat somewhere out of reach as a result (too wide to sit atop the pc)
