Tbh all we can do is speculate as to the IB performance atm, but I don't even think I'd upgrade to it from my 1366 rig yet. Imo it'd be btr to wait for the next years Intel Tick cycle to make any switches, but it is nice that you can use your SB cpus with the new boards![]()
Speculate? didnt you take a look at the tests results?![]()
Imo looking at all the results theres only one conclusion, and that is that the IB kicks ass. I wouldnt get a 3770k if i had a 2600k/2700k though.
I did, but I'm reserving to cast judgement on just how gd IB is until Tom and a few others give the new cpu's a proper reviewing.
i know they say the same price as SB, but what they mean is same as when SB came out, i'm HOPING that when they come out the 2600k becomes dirt cheap so i can upgrade my 2500k (no point that i see in getting the 3770k over the 2600k if your not gonna use the hd4000 or the pci3 tech, cuz 5-15% isn't that much if the price is higher)
Pre-order prices are starting to pop up in the Netherlands.. 305 euros for an i7-3770k and 210 euros for the i5-3570k. Not bad at all!
Source is in Dutch, but you can always use google translate..

Edit: Prices have gone up to €360. If they don't drop, it will be sh*te value and you'd be better off going with an old 2600k.
whats the official release date?
I heard the 29th of April, and the motherboards are supposed to be for sale the 9th of the same month. No-one is 100% sure though.
