Here's what I've ordered so far:

- Coolermaster 690 II Advanced White chasis.

- Asus P8P67 Pro Motherboard.

- Intel i5 2500K processor (retail).

- Dell U2311H IPS monitor.

Total cost so far: £610.

Will keep you up to date with any new purchases I make.

Next I'm buying the PSU, RAM and SSD

You do realise that its an unwritten OC3D rule that you can't put an optical disk drive in a white chassis.

I think he could get away with it if he paints the front of the drive to match the case and stealth it lol.

You already decided what RAM and PSU to get?

Looking like some very decent specs for your rig tho dude. Kudos.

Nice, you are getting the white 690. I couldn't get one when I bought mine no one had them in stock so i had to settle for the black. Keep us updated anyway, it's good to see someone you have helped get all the bits together and to see the finished build.

If you are going to get a optical dvive get an external USB one so it doesn't spoil the look of the case and when you are not using it you can hide it away.

Stuff is arriving today, don't worry, there will be lots of pics!

If I can't have an optical drive (even if its white?) then how do I install my OS and games etc... Should I boot from a USB key?

The PSU I've chosen is the Corsair GS800, SSD is the Kingston V100 64GB and RAM is Mushkin Redline Ridgeback 2100MHz 8GB (2x4GB)...

Sound ok?

PS. OMGGGG TTL commented on my post?!!?!?

Personally, as long as it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb, I don't see an issue with a optical drive in a white case.

Sounds good as far as other components go.

Lol he did comment, but only to criticise

He's right though, you'd better get some pics up when the kit starts arriving

I have the exact same monitor ! If you used a TFT panel before this one it is going to blow your mind haha !

Can't wait to see more of this build.

Well thanks guys, I'm glad you are excited as I am! Can't wait to see the IPS display, apparently the crispness is unbelievable!

Will keep you guys posted!

Ordered two more components last night, thought you guys might want to know:

- Mushkin Redline Ridgeback 8GB 2100MHz (tried to find G.Skill, but couldn't get any 8GB kits)

- NOCTUA NH-D14 ... It should be illegal to build a custom computer without one.

Total cost so far: £790

Where are the pics Lexxikonn?

I need some new Pr0n

I will post some pr0n for you. Just built my first PC and I have been taking pictures on my iPhone. The cables are out of the way but viewable because of my bad cable routing skills.

Yeah I been waiting for the pics as well. We don't mind the half way through assembly ones, in fact the in progress ones are sometimes more interesting....

I'll get the tissues ready.
