Hey there :3

i was looking at purchasing a sound card as im using currently the z77 mpower onboard audio.

the speakers i'm currently using with it is the Logitech z906.

also i'm not really much of a headset gamer i like listening to music and just play a few games here and there and i really want a sound card that brings out the heavy bass.

just want your opinion guys on what the best sound card would be given the situation i'm in.

Also price is not a concern as long as its good i don't really care how much i pay

To me, the only real option would be a D2X.
The STX is better - but it doesn't support 5.1.

For once here - the Phoebus may actually be a consideration as it does support 5.1 over analogue so you would benefit from the DAC.
But for speakers - you probably won't notice a massive difference from the DAC, and IMO it really isn't worth it for the extra features on the Phoebus that you wouldn't use - ie, noise cancellation, headphone amp etc...

Save money and get the D2X.

I got good experiences with any of the asus xonar cards
just pick whatever price range you want and you should be fine

if you just want heavy bass going higher then Asus XONAR-DX with that logitech its not worth it.if you are an audiophile guy get the D2X or Essence ST and new speakers.

Ive owned an Asus STX and its not a patch on the Auzentech hometheatre HD. Auzentech have poor distribution but are really the entry-level high audiophile class. Forget the rest rhetoric just trust your ears.
Yours truly
A budding audiophile
