So the DFI C2D isn't out until mid/end of October. My reaction? Ah what! What am I supposed to do for the interim? Thats a month!

No one has given up any info on the asus board which is out this month P5N32-SLI PREMIUM/WIFI-AP

Why not? Are there no reviews, examples of overclocking?

I neeeeeed something... Come on I know someone knows something I don't!

Cheers

IMO P5B is where it's at, at the moment.

Mine is a great board, and 490fsb is nothing to be sniffed at :p

Definately not mate, that's a fab board u have there. Has it been rock solid for ya since you've been pusing the OC envelope?

What did that board run ya anyhow?

I would have got the P5B but I have nVidia SLi - thats a crossfire board.

I was waiting for the n590 chipset, i almost bought the nForce 4 P5N32SLI SE Delux months ago to go Conroe. Then I figure wait. So I wait. Now all the hype is on the DFI... Which isn't out for another month.

If I keep waiting for the next best mobo i'll never get this built!!!

C2D mobo with SLi is what I need.

So back to my origonal question, is there any details of the new Asus, or another suitable mobo?:worship:

I'd rather have 975x tbh. There is about a 200MHz "difference" in performance between 975 & 965.

For example, an E6600 on 975X @ 3.6GHz will be as fast as a E6600 @ 3.8GHz on P965.

Where did that come from? I don't want a P965 either! I didn't think there were any 975X mobo's that support two x16 PCI-e lanes in SLi and c2d...

I don't want nforce 4 either, I was just saying I almost bought one.

I want some info on the mobo i referenced in my 1st post of this thread! I'm keeping tabs on the DFI in the other thread...

Yep guys its true. 975x is faster than the P965 clock for clock, almost 200Mhz worth, and in some cases more (or less). You read about it a lot @ xs. You can really see 975x shine in superpi, vs P965.

TBH i think thats BS. You could say the same for the difference between the P5W and the Bad Axe scores. Its the board more than the chipset. An easy way to tell would be to get me and kemp to set our E6600's to exactly the same speed and do a PI. I bet ya there'd be no noticable difference.

I'd expect there wouldn't

Go ahead and do it then. :)

15.609s for the P965

Who's gonna argue that ~0.2s is a win? Only an idiot methinks.

Dont believe everything you read at other forums...

Plus my board doesn't clock as well as the P5B :(

But it DOES have Crossfire and (unofficial) SLI support

I did read somewhere that the 965 works with the hacked SLI drivers - just no crossfire tho.

EDIT: Shall i clock my p965 200mhz faster for sh*ts and giggles just to see what the results are then :p

Good god !! And nicks proves once again that he is an IDIOT . No the 975x isnt faster than 965x by 200 mhz at the same clocks you retard. The only good thing about 975x compared to the 965x is that it has better memory bandwidth ( slightly ) and its more matured. Give a 965X board enough time and it will outclock and outperform every 975X board in the market.

965X = new hardware

975X = matured hardware

What mobo are you using? With unofficial SLi support, does that mean you need hacked drivers? (If so where do you get them?)

Also, back to unofficial SLi; will the pcie lanes both be at full x16 speeds?

Thank you kindly
