Heya everyone!

So since I've joined this forum I've heard the words 'folding' and 'F@H' for the first time. I was explained what it means and after reading up on it I thought it was a really good thing that people did this.

I really want to start folding myself, but my father won't let me because of the electricity bill Guess I'll have to wait until I'm out of the house. The reason I want this is because I've lost my fair share of friends and family to cancer and I think it would be great to help researching it, even though it only helps a little. My best friend is fighting cancer right now and I hope she gets well soon.

"So what is this thread for?" you might ask. Well, I just wanted to thank all of you folders. Everyone has different reasons to do it and for a select few it might even be just for fun or for the points, but that doesn't make them any less useful. You're all putting your computers to good use and pay more on your electricity bill for a good cause and that's what matters.

Just wanted to say that I think it's really cool that you guys do this! You're all a bit of a hero!

My wife had a hard time for awhile with the money "wasted" on electricity. Once I explained to her that I can't cure diseases myself, but there is a way I can help the research process, she has been for it.

I still have a hard time getting her to remember to turn the client back on after she is done with the PC, but she doesn't give me crap anymore about the electric use.

We all do it for different reasons. I do it because I have a ton of money in my machine and I dont game with it 24/7. Alot of time I am watching Youtube videos or doing something simple and that is when I turn the client on and let it rock. I figure if the computer is already on and it's not slowly me down any then might as well put the hardware to good use.
