hi.

went out today and bought me a new shiny ibm deathstar 75gxp 46.1gb and want to push it to maximum for atleast 8 hours to find any weak spots so any ideas on how ?

defragging and copy several big files simultanously is what i intend to start with as soon as xp is finished installing.

Make a few copies of u`r pagefile ;)

Then put a bat file together to keep copying them and deleting them until u press a key.

lmao

more thinking of putting a 700mb avifile onto the harddrive and then copy it simultanously 4-5times until the harddrive is almost full and then defrag the harddrive.

dont know how long time it will take but is a quite hard work which should provide alot of headmovements.

if you want to test it (not sure why as im sure the manufactorers doa far better job at this before they ship the drive) i'd recommended doing it a way so the data you copy if different each time.

the harddrive was manufactured may 02 and was sold as a replaced/repaired and has a limited warranty so want to push it before i start to use it.
