I think it's just that:
* It's a uber top-end piece of hardware
* Every day more negative news is released
* It's over-priced
* We hear a new bad bit of news every day about it

Well it's just the normal PS2 controller with no rumble and some motion sensitive added to it.
Not real "innovative" and certainly not a patch on the excellent 360 controller

I love the PS3 so far.. 
There has been lots of bad things said, but nobody ever remembers the good things.. do they?
I think I prefered the older controller, not the PS2 modded one.. I like the boomarang shape!
I think it time it will be a nice system, the only real reason people hate it is because of the price.
Look at it this way, The Xbox360 had small issues now resolved. But hey!

Every system has bugs, I think the 360 fanboys just try to make the 360 look better than the ps3 when it isn't.

IMO, i think the 360 is better at the moment, this is only because its been out a year longer. Meaning a year longer to iron out bugs etc. There's pretty much never going to be a console released that doesnt have a bug.
i think the ps3 is awesome, h/e @ start too much hype, high cost, and buggy. sony tends to overprice things (i guess to make the average consumer think like there more higher quality i guess) Sony makes good products but i think they should just stick to the market instead of making their whole segment. ex mem pro cards instead of SD, blu-ray instead of hd etc.

Well the PS3 is theoretically better than the 360, but with a helluva lot worse online service with many games not even being online-abled.
I am not a fanboy of any console, but the 360 is well in the lead right now and Sony are well behind. Sony should have had their product out at the same time as Microsoft, but they didn't and now they are going to pay dearly for a year or so

I believe the Wii is well ahead now then either of them. The only thing the 360 has is its been out longer to get rid of the bugs and have more systems in houses. By this Christmas i expect the Wii to be ahead in sales. As for the PS3, BLAH. Ive played it and yea, to me it sucks. I want to see how Oblivion compares on it to the 360.

, the light effects on xbox are much better than those on ps3 even though ps3 is supposed to have better hardware , anyway i dont have any console except a ps 2 which i won in a lottery and never used :/ well its there to rot in the wardrobe

Well that'd be because the engine of a wii is little more than an overclocked gamecube! as PP Mguire says, it's not about the AV, it's about the games. yeah i know wii is more for physical excersise , bout te ps2 u serious?
